Mpix Photo Books featured in Popular Photography Magazine this month!

Check out John Owen's editorial in the August 2007 issue of Popular Photography (page 13). In the article the editor talks about his favorable experience with ordering a photo book from Mpix.

The article talks about Owen's mantra: photo quality. When he heard Mpix was now producing books with the Kodak Nexpress, he did not hesitate to give us a try. He references the May 2006 article "Click to Print" where Mpix earned Popular Photography's highest rating in print quality and turnaround time.

The press guys have experienced a tremendous increase in the book orders since the article has run. Obviously, many photographers rely on these types of endorsements. However, the very best exposure for Mpix continues to be photographers word of mouth. Thanks to all of our customers that 'tell a friend' about Mpix…we do appreciate it!

I have been a customer with Mpix for 1.5 years and a friend recently gave me a subscription to Popular Photography where I learned about the authors great experience with the photo books from Mpix. I created a book for a customer of mine and it turned out fabulous! The linen paper leaves a crosshatched look that is very classy. I have recommended Mpix photo books and other products to all my other professional friends for their clients as well! Thanks for this great product and your great customer serivce!!!

Gwen, we are are receiving great feedback on the linen paper.  Have you tried the pearl paper?  It is equally as stunning.

When these books arrive finished, do they have "Mpix" stamped anywhere on them like on the inside/ outside  cover, back cover (in or out) on a page (or pages) anywhere? If yes, where specifically & how many diff. places, etc. Thing is, I'm a professional Photographer (23 years), and as a pro I need to make a profit (duh).  Personally, I don't like my clients to see the book maker, especially if it's very reasonably priced like these seem to be, then have them go online to figure out what it cost me to get what they are holding in their hand. Sure, they know (or at least SHOULD know) that their cost is not merely for the book but for my art, skill- etc... etc... blah... blah.... regardless, I still don't want them to know where & how much $$ it cost me to make the book (like magic I suppose). Could anyone answer this "trademark" stamp issue for me? Unfortunately, It's a deal breaker.

The Popular Photography article inspired me to try out the new photo books, as I have always been impressed with the print quality from Mpix. While the overall quality of the book was outstanding, and the turnaround time was lightning-fast as usual, the image quality left something to be desired. Customer service explained that the print quality of the press papers were not the same a the photographic paper.

Also on the positive side, the software was very nice, and allows for greater flexibility with page layouts compared with other similar services.
