How to create a custom cover within Adobe Photoshop?

In early February, we introduced the Custom Cover Books to our line of MpixPRESS products. In their inaugural month, they have become very popular with customers. Many of our customers use Adobe Photoshop to creatively design the cover. To help in this creative process, we have set up guides for each book size available.

The custom cover guides are located at http://community.mpix.com/forums/t/65889.aspx

Below is an example on how to use the guides within Adobe Photoshop.

1. Guide in Photoshop

2. Guide/original image

Simply drag and drop the full image onto the guide template.

3. The image must fill the bleed area. Keep text away from the edges.

4. This is how the image will appear within the software. Please note: It will appear off-center in the software, but as long as you size the file correctly in Photoshop it will print centered.

5. Final result

Here is another example if you place an image on the back of the book.

This is how the image will appear in the software. Again, it will appear off-center.
