We have taken some great strides with new holiday templates for our MpixPRESS Folded Greeting Cards and Postcards. Up to now we have focused on templates for our Photographic Greeting Cards. However, recently we challenged our staff of graphic artists to work on creating fun, new templates for the press products...and they delivered! We have over 40 crisp new designs for you to choose from!

For your convenience all new designs are organized under a new 'New Tempates' tab within our MpixPRESS software.

Below are examples of the new designs. Download our PDF catalog to view all of the new designs.

Please note – to view the new templates you must download the most current version of the MpixPRESS Software (ver 5.1.8).

We didn’t stop with just holiday templates. Checkout our new Mpix Template Designers program. This program features talented designers that have created Photoshop (PSD) template files to MpixPRESS specs, and make them available for purchase on their web site. The program launches today with designs from Jamie Schultz and Lisa Reichman. We hope you enjoy having access to Jamie and Lisa’s fresh, creative templates.

New! 24x36" Print Size

Many of you have been asking for a larger print size. This week the new 24x36" size print was added to our already robust size offering. The new size is available on E-Surface paper only, and sells for $44.99. Click here to see all of our print sizes and pricing.

Unfortunately due to the risk of shipping damage, we will not be offering frames for this print size. In addition, in an effort to maintain our low shipping charges, this one size will be rolled and not shipped flat. The good news is that your 24x36" print can be mounted on double-weight matboard or foam core. Click here to learn more about our mounting options.

Looking for another large print option? Our Gallery Wraps are available in a 24x36" size.

New! Two and Three-Image Christmas Card Templates

There have been overwhelming requests for two and three-image card templates this Christmas season.

Ordering the cards is as simple as creating them.

To order, simply click the Buy Prints tab and then choose the Specialty products button as shown below. In the drop down menu you will see options for horizontal and vertical cards, each holding a different number of images.

Changing to a different template is also quick and easy in the drop down menu feature on the sidebar.

New! DIY Greeting Cards

We are excited to add a 5x7" Greeting Card size with our new DIY product. These cards are similar to our traditional photographic Greeting Cards except you can order either a 5x7" or a 4x8" card, and we offer discounts for quantity orders. The minimum order quantity on DIY cards is 25. Below are examples of custom cards created by our designer Samae Claspill.

The following table addresses how DIY Greeting Cards differ from our traditional Photo Greeting Cards.

To order DIY Greeting Cards simply create your design in Photoshop, or your favorite design software, and save it in a JPEG or TIFF format. Once you have uploaded the file go to DIY Greeting Cards under the Buy Specialty Products tab, and place your order.

If you are looking to save money, create a custom look that is uniquely yours, or order 5x7" cards, DIY Greeting Cards are a great way to go!

Mpix took on New York City!

Take 60 passionate photographers, beautiful weather in New York and 2 talented instructors and you have the makings for a very memorable day. That's just what John and I were able to experience yesterday morning, and it was terrific.

We started the day at the Shelburne Hotel where Rick Sammon and Carey Schumacher shared some great tips on making great pictures. We then walked to the pier and boarded a boat for a boat tour on the Hudson. Popular Photography helped us organize the event, and their experience with Photo Treks was invaluable. All attendees will have the opportunity to submit their images to the publication in hopes of having them published in the future in POP and American Photo magazines.

For 2 hours we shot pictures of the city skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, lower Manhattan and more with the help of Rick and Carey. For John and I, the most fun was spending time with so many of our Mpix customers, and getting to know others that love their photography.

We see so many awesome pictures come through the lab, and talk to so many great people on our forum. However, there is nothing better than meeting you all in person and learning how photogrpahy impacts your life. Thanks to all who made the New York shoot such a great experience!

PhotoPLUS Expo: Day 1

It has been an exciting first day at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York. The Mpix crew of Joe, Barry, Samae, Carla, Tonya, and John will be wrapping up the final two days of the show. We would love to see some of our existing customers stop by the booth. The new boutique packaging, books, and frames have been very popular at this show. The show runs from 9:00am until 5pm. Here is quick picture preview of the show so far.

PhotoPLUS Expo update

The Mpix crew just arrived in New York today for the PhotoPlus Expo. We spent a good part of the afternoon setting up the booth and trying to find storage space for all the great stuff we are wanting to display. The expo hall was beginning to take shape by the time we left, but we're expecting it to really be alive in the morning.

The Mpix team is hitting the road again this week as we head to PhotoPLUS in New York City. Stop by our booth, number 1628, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center Thursday through Saturday.

We will be showing off our books, standouts and three premium papers. This is a great time to see the Mpix 2.0 product line and put a face to the name you see on our emails. We look forward to seeing you there!

New Book Software Update...Book Sharing and 8x8" now available!

Have you ever wanted to create a book for the family reunion, or to commemorate a special event, and wanted to share it with your friends and family? We are excited to announce that you can now create your book and share it with family, friends and even your customers. Download the software now!

Adding a sharing feature is a major enhancement, but we of course took it one step further. Our customer service staff received many requests for an 8x8" book option and now it's here, available with a custom or suede cover. Many other features will be added with this latest update:
- Improved image selection interface
- Thumbnail magnification when scrolling over images
- Full frame page templates for custom cover books

To update your version follow these quick steps:
1. Go to Start
2. Click on "Programs"
3. Select the Mpix My Photo Book option
4. Select to "Check for latest update"

East Coast Shooters: We'll See You Next Year!

And so it goes, that with sad faces and prolonged goodbyes, we pack our bags and board our planes. The meet up was a great success, and much of the credit belongs to beginner, Doodlebug and lphoto. From all of us at Mpix, we thank them for their part in pulling off a wonderful four-day event.

Saturday was packed full of classes and great information from Steph (The Nerd Husband's Wife), Lowry (lphoto), Jessica (JE Photography) and Tricia (KarmaPink). The great thing about our group in Beckley was that everyone felt involved. The group ranged from amateur to studio owner, but everyone in attendance was quick to help and answer questions. It's a humbling experience to see people meet for the first time in person and feel like they have been best friends for years. It's really pretty amazing.

Saturday night was of course our big bowling championship. After a long drive to the bowling alley, probably taking the wrong way at least once, we were able to grab our Velcro bowling shoes and bowling pin socks for a showdown between Doodlebug and myself. Needless to say, she may be a better photographer, but Team Mpix was well represented on the lanes.

Today we fit in one final class with Jessica on senior posing before checking out and trying to avoid the heavy hearted good byes that we always feel at the end of a meet up or convention. It cannot be said enough how great our group was and how eager to learn or teach each person was. It was a great experience for us all, with the only downfall being we will have to wait a full year before coming together again.

East Coast Shooters: It's Here!

Our bags are packed, our rooms are booked and I'm 30 minutes away from boarding my plane.

The East Coast Shooters Meet Up starts today in Beckley, West Virginia. We have a great group of photographers, and friends, coming together for a weekend of shooting, learning and a lot of laughing.

Classes range from "The Business Side of Weddings with Steph Smith" to "The Basics of Photoshop with Lowry Wilson". There is something here for every level of photographer, even the beginners like myself.

We will be posting regularly on the Mpix Blog this weekend to give everyone who couldn't make it a look at what happens at an Mpix Community Meet Up. Be sure to check out the Forum for information on future events.
