Went to the Sand Dunes today, one of my favorite things to do in CO.

And one of the coming fall. Still early but there were some leaves changing:

Wow! I didn't know there WERE sand dunes in Co!
I respect those who are willing to speak what they believe and not follow the crowd.
I respect those who are able to accept that we will not all agree and are mature enough to allow a difference of opinion without making it their call in life to convince us that there is only one correct way.
I respect those who teach us how to fly and then step back and allow us to chart our own course. And if we fail, they gently pick us up, dust us off and encourage us to soar once again.

The way we choose to respond when others make mistakes can cause them to feel ashamed or can allow them to remember our kindness and share our stories with future generations.

we remember moments.

Yep, Kara, it is a National Monument, and it is huge and sits at the foot of the San De Cristo mountain range!

Beautiful!! Isn't it cool to see all that sand in the middle of the mountains. We went to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes in Utah. It looked kinda the same. Very cool photos Susann.

That's really something!

I'm with Kara. Never knew there were sand dunes in CO!

There are what we call the sandhills in western Kansas, but nothing like that. If you'd shown that image without any description I would've thought there was a heckova road project starting up!

Thanks everyone.
Sergei, we were there first thing in the morning. I wanted to get there at sunrise, but it took us a little longer to get to than planned.

There wasn't any wind and the sand was pretty wet from recent rain/snow so I didn't have to contend with the worry of sand in the lens. :)
