I had a call today, the person on the phone asked what my views are on same sex Marriage...

I told them that I thought every person should have the same right to be miserable, regardless of their sexual preference :-)
Best regards,

Gary

It's a double edged sword. Divorce lawyers would double too.

My wife and I were at a local craft fair, when a woman at one of the booths asked me if I would like a free spine check. I responded " No, that's not needed, I don't have a spine. I've been married for 25 years ... I had to pick up my wife after she fell on the ground laughing.

I had a *** couple bait me at an outdoor fair one time. They asked me if I shot same sex weddings. I told them I didn't shoot weddings. They asked me again and I said that I didn't shoot weddings so it was a moot point... They just kept bugging me about it, then took one of my business cards, walked away laughing about it and ripped my card up and threw it in the air.....nice... You have to be careful how you answer...here in Colorado if you say you don't shoot them, they can take you to court. Wish I had thought of that answer...lol.

so they can take you to court over your religious belief, if that's the case? can of worms.

I thought she meant a "3 star couple' LOL

As for the divorce lawyers, I don't consider that a double edge sword. I feel it just adds to the economic side of the argument.

The hotels around here are booked a year in advance, some have 2-4 weddings a weekend, Imagine that number doubling. Cakes, limos, Event planners.. list goes on and on. again, just the economics of it.

Point made.

Back to banning *** words :)

Yeah, that is kind of one sided.

I consider ANY increase in lawyers to generally be a bad idea. :-)

Money is one thing, morals is another. I wouldn't shoot it as I believe that should be reserved for a man and a woman. But at the same time I am not going to try to stop those who wish to go that route and certainly wouldn't blame any photographers for increasing their income. In a way I think it would be a major challenge to shoot a wedding like that.

Patrick, the number of weddings won't double. According to some stats I just googled, only 10-20% of US citizens report themselves as ***, and not all of them are getting married. A lot of the same sex weddings here in Iowa are very small affairs without a lot of "to do", they aren't the big affairs that so many weddings tend to be. As a wedding professional in a state that legalized *** marriage, right on the river to boot so we get a lot of out-of-staters that come to our town, I have only had 3 inquiries in the last year.

You can't refuse to photograph a same sex wedding even if you claim it is against your religious beliefs. The courts have held that it is sexual orientation discrimination.
