This is the 3rd senior guy I've had the privledge of shooting!
He's kinda an edgy artistic type kid, absolutely did NOT want his pics taken, but his mama insisted! (Thankfully he was quite happy with them and actually had fun!) He wanted a lot of color pop, and the saturated colors, etc. This was my first time shooting portraits with this lens (Tamron 75-200mm f2.8) and thought it would be a good location to give it a try since I could be quite a distance from him. I did simple edits in lightroom and used a preset to add a little color depth for him.. (too much? not enough? over done? throw them away and start over? I realize a preset throws off the skin tone, but I definitely struggle with white balance!)

The step shot the horizontal line is off! I will fix that.

I haven't been here in quite a while, see there are not a lot of critiques...so this gives me and you something to do! :)

Thank you Mpix peoples!!!

Thanks for a reply!
Yeah, 1 & 2 are my fav.
Darn, didn't think 4 was too "crotchy", I was just looking at it as a way guys sit, I will watch that next time.
And 5, can you explain what you mean about animated? Just more movement?
Again, I completely appreciate the feedback.

I like 1 & 3 best. #2 may be the best technically, but the pose looks a bit feminine to me. Subject trumps technicality, right? lol.. for me it does.

With the exception of #2, they seem a little dark to me in the shadow areas causing you to lose some detail in the clothing and eyes.

Nice looking guy!
#1 is the shot I like, but I would bring up the whites in his eyes and teeth and potentially clone out the hole to the left of his face, it's too distracting and draws my eye away from him.
It's also a little dark but a levels adjustment could fix that pretty quickly. Here is my quick edit.

I agree with Linda, the second one is too feminine, they look great.

Love the edit, thank you! I should have known to clone the holes! I always struggle with how much to brighten eyes, and tend to totally forget the teeth, lol... but I guess that's part of the learning! :) I appreciate your time!!!

Try not to every tip a guys head towards his higher (feminine) shoulder. Ladies heads should tip towards the higher shoulder, but, can also tip to the masculine side if ya wanna.
I like 3 the best! Thanks...Chris
