Ok, Nashville bound peeps. Got an announcement to make!
Grab your tripods and wide angle lenses! You may need 'em! (And maybe a flashlight.)
Thanks to the efforts of Rosemary, we have a chance to do some Urban Exploration if everyone is interested. There is a small fee for this, though. Details below.
The Neuhoff Meat Processing plant, located on the bank of the Cumberland River near downtown, is a place that looks like it just grew. I go past this place nearly every morning on my way into work and always thought it would be a fantastic place for Urban Exploring. Part of it has been reclaimed and houses an art co-op and music event venue. (And a few other things.) But there is still a lot to be explored.
Just got word from Rosemary that we can get access from 3pm til 6pm on Friday afternoon. The total fee is $300, but we should be down to around $30 per person if our count is close.
I know this is sort of short notice, (and a little pricey) but Rosemary has been trying to get in touch with the right people for a couple of weeks (or more?) and I didn't want to say anything until we had an answer. And at least it is late in the day on Friday.
What say ye?

I am excited to get us inside this place. Thank you Joe for suggesting it and allowing me to be part of it.
I hope everyone can spare the money to do it. At first they wanted $600 and I told her our group was too small and I knew we couldn't do that. After some talking she said she would give us the "Starving Artist" rate. lol So, I know it won't come down any.

Wonder if they'd bite at free license to a few images?

Joe, I tried that already. She said they have enough photos of that place that they could paper a wall with them. She said people are constantly asking to shoot in there for free and they just can't do it.
I think the $300 is going to be our best deal we can get since I already talked her down from $600.
Sounds like most every one is on board. Have we heard from Donna and Ed? I know Diane and Debi and Mike said they were up for whatever. If we end up not having 10 people (right now it's 7 confirmed coming) then it will be more per person so everybody has to be prepared for that too and I imagine we will have to put a deposit down. I will find out details when I call her back next week to confirm if we're going to do it or not.

Ha! Guess I'm not alone in finding it irresistable!

I have not heard from Donna or Ed. But this sounds like the sort of thing Ed would be into. I'll try and get an answer from them asap.
