I am doing something wrong when posting to FB. My pictures get grainy and less sharp looking. They look great on my monitor , the prints are true and crystal clear up to 16x20 ( have not printed larger in a while) , and they look great on my blog and smugmug ( I do not need to resize for either of those).

They are only trashed on FB.

What I do is resize them to 900 on the wide size , sharpen slightly , save. I don;'t use the save for web , because they looked worse that way. Anyone who shares or advertises on FB care to share their resize and post method? I see other photographers with pristine looking crystal clear images on there ..mine look that way everywhere EXCEPT FB. Even on photobucket they look better. So I am obviously doing something wrong when it comes resizing and displaying on FB. Conversly I have seen other photographers complain of the same exact thing , while others seem to display beautiful images degradation free . Any idea what the secret is?

I'm using CS5 . Help!!!

For me I post them at 600 pixles on the longest side and I also shapen to the point they appear over sharpened on my monitor before uploading.

800 pix on the long side. 72dpi. Seems to work so far for me. Facebook does occasionally darken or get a little wiggy with color though. Have you tried using the high definition upload instead? When you're loading your photos to Facebook usually there's a button at the lower left of the loading dialog that allows you to upload higher definition photos. Maybe try that?
... huh?

I've had problems with FB and Blogger. I've never noticed a hight definition upload option before. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
