    Newlywed Couple (5 images)

Looking for critiques on poses, or anything else that stands out to you.

For those of you who had seen my post on the newlyweds wanting a Christmasy session, this is it.  We did some kissing shots with the mistletoe that I like, too.

Okay so I'm SOOO not a photographer, but just going based on what I see as a normal person I like them all except number 2 and 5.  I think it's kinda weird how her face is all in the shot but the top of his head is all cropped out. Not sure if thats something "in" right now and I don't know about it though so it may be just fine.

As for number 5 I love the idea and the picture looks good too but I actually thought it looked like they were placing their hands on her "belly" like a pregnancy shot. That's just my opinion though no one else may feel that way. As for all the pictures they look GREAT IMO and I would LOVE to be able to shoot like you!! I've got LOTS to learn.

I think they'll be VERY happy with them! Good job!

I think your exposure is off in 1. There are hot spots and it looks like their faces have barely been saved. If you shot in raw this could be fixable.

I like the new artsy crop, of only his chin and her face. It's preference. Was this shot just for you, or for the client.  With each session take what the client wants and near the end take a few poses just for you.

Them holding the misteltoe is nice but it makes me think she is pregnant. could just be me.

For newlywed shots I love to see the love and emotion in a young couple.

Yeah, I would say I did that.  I just tend to post the ones that are more for me beacuse I want to grow--be more artistic, but do it well.  I'm finding that if I blog the type of images I like, people are learning to like that style more.

Me, too.  This was a hard, hard session.  He was totally ticked that they were doing this session in the first place.  Then his football team was on to play a game 1/2 an hour after we'd be done.  Not a good combination.  I had to work incredibly hard to get him to touch her at all, or to smile.  He actually groaned when I asked him to kiss her.  I felt sorry for her.

Really?  This was actually borderlne underexposed, so I must have overdone the pp.  I don't see the hot spots.  Is my monitor off?

I like the shots. They seem a bit Red though.

But, don't you just hate when the husband acts like that. Why don't these guys realize how many "points" they could  make with their little woman by taking some photos! I mean, they have the love of their life "all up on them".....and they'd still rather be somewhere else....how silly. I tell my brides to "bribe" their man into being good at the photo session! I tell em to tell their man, "If you cooperate at the photo session, I'll give you ______" (fill in blank - steak, tools, a new gun, etc, etc......Big Smile.)
