    new mexican photogs

i am native new mexican living in north carolina and have been asked to shoot a distant family members wedding in las cruces. i never pay attention to studios or photogs when visiting and have been trying to find websites, for local prices, in lc and can't seem to find many.  what is the going rate for a 5 hour wedding shoot?  the wedding shoot will consist of pre wedding shots of the bride and her girls, the groom and his boys, the whole party together, the wedding and a reception. i usually charge about $2,000 for all day coverage and a cd of 200 color corrected high res images.  does this sound fair for the area?

    any help would be great.

i meant to say that i don't pay attention to the "prices" of local studios and photogs.  i do pay attention to who is new and what they are producing.

    sorry, angela

I've tried to compare my prices, but most around here don't post them.  You can check mine out at http://www.foto-fects.com if you want.  I'm not sure how they compare to Las Cruces though.  I'm quite a bit cheaper than you though and I've had alot of people balk at my prices!.

I totally expected this thread to be about Mexican photographers sneaking across the border and undercutting our prices.

I am from new mexico and you can check my prices here. I find that compared to other areas, New Mexicans don't want to pay as much, but they also don't go for the "goodies". Maybe I am totally wrong, but thats what I find with the people that come in to consultations in Albuquerque.

Against much advice, I sell a "negatives" CD and about 40% of people go for this becuase they just want "all their pictures"

     Good luck!
