I have a question concerning resolutions size.....

A friend wants to purchase a 16x20 print of one of my 35mm images....and of course, she called me 15 minutes ago, and wants the print by the weekend! (don't you just love that!)  I'm not sure the neg can handle being enlarged to that size....I told her I wouldn't go over 11x14...

but I thought about trying to scan the print and then having the enlargement made.

My question is....what resolution would be best to get a decent 16x20 b&w print?

 

Your best quality is a print directly from the neg, for a 16x20 to get a file resolution of 300ppi you would neeed to scan the 35mm neg at 4800 ppi.
