I just wish the artsy-fartsy types would not be so creative in colors on their webpages....

Think you are creative? Create a sunset.......

Haha Kenw, I agree, I think.  When I skimmed through this long winded re-hash, the main thing I learned was that he shot his first landscape photo in 2003????   (What, now, thanks to photoshop, he's the Ansel Adams of this century!)   How old is this guy?Now maybe my problem is that, when I take a picture, I sometimes forget to pre-visualize it on the cover of National Geographic.  (Note to self: work on that).  Or maybe it's just that I've spent enough time in nature, taking pictures, that I actually like it when the color is subtle, sometimes hazy.  And I'm usually at the coast, so I'm typically  either on a boat, or hanging off a seaweed covered rock!  But if the print looks true, I like that!  (LaDair says I'm a purist.  I think he's right!).  I love it when a photo captures the real colors of nature.  Playing around with portraits is one thing.  But remember that ad from years ago: "You can't fool Mother Nature..."  This guy is just is trying to have it both ways.

I liked his use of color.

I've just been commissioned to do 3 landscapes of local lakes and waterways that will be printed on gallery wraps.  I'm glad to have this information - it was easy to read and some good suggestions and ideas.

    Thanks for posting this, Tom.
