Hey guys I want to mount my flash to a stand or tripod so I can position it away from my camera and maybe shoot it through an umbrella. I have a long enough sync cord as the only one Nikon makes for my Nikon D-70 is about 3ft long. Can someone give me some ideas how to do this and what kind of adapters or brackets I will need? I also have a flash bracket that I shoot with when I have my flash mounted to it.

I love that site!  I've been visiting it for the past couple weeks and it's has some of the best projects and examples I've seen anywhere.  Also cool is the strobist group on flicker.

What kind of flash do you have?  I don't use any sync cords, as I use Nikon wireless features with SB800 flashes.
