I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions for buying a 500 GB external hard drive...too many photos, not enough storage on my computer.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Last week, I got a 500GB My Book external hard drive at Best buy for around $139 on sale.  If you look online you could probably even find a better deal.

I just bought the 500 GB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - My Book Essential Edition for $130 after tax (reg $190) from Dell. It will be about 4 weeks before it comes in but the deal was good. The 250GB was $100...

I have a 160 gig usb external drive and a 250 gig Ethernet drive on my home wireless network. The usb drive is set up for "sharing" so I can access it from any computer in the house as long as the desktop computer it is attached to is powered up.  Ethernet drives are a little more expensive, but I love that I can access it it from my laptop on my wireless network, even if my desktop computer is not turned on. I think my Ethernet drive is a Western Digital........ It just plugs into my wireless router and is available to any other computer I have attached to the network... 

I saw the same ones yesterday at Best Buy.  They also have a 1 Tb for about $419.
