I don't have photoshop, I use Microsoft Digital Imaging. I don't have a Healing Brush, but I do have a Blending Brush, which I think is the same thing. This is the toughest blemish removal I think I've had, and I've got 60 proofs to edit.....

Holy crap! You have a lot of work to do. Could you maybe ask him what he wants to order and just work on those? I would hate to see you spend some time at your PC.

Re: How's my blemish edit?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I've never had one this bad before. But, unfortunatly, they were really concerned about it, and as usual, we told them, like we do every senior, that what they see is what they get. We proof everything edited.
That might change in the near future. I just don't want to go back on my word on this one, I'm afraid it might hurt some feelings if I say "Sorry - he's got too many zits, I don't want to fix them all."

Re: How's my blemish edit?
Wow Amy... I'm feeling for you, especially without PS..
I understand not wanting to say "touching up your zitty face is taking a lot of my time, mind if I just fix the ones you actually plan to spend money on?" but at the same time, goodness....
I feel so bad I'm tempted to ask if you want to send me some SOOC and I'll just fix the pimples and send them back - then you can fix the rest of the problems, like cropping and contrast, etc.
That is going to be a LOT of work without PS.....

You know, I was thinking that he reminded me of someone, now I think I know who it is... Elijah Wood - earlier days (like Huck Finn)...

Re: How's my blemish edit?
I do think it looks good! I like that it doesn't look TOO smooth... that it still looks like his real skin, just without that nasty whitehead - YUCK!

Ok I'm sure they realize that he has a problem with blemishes. Your photographer should be like a doctor of sorts. (No "playin doctor" jokes please :)~~ He should be able to pick out the ones he likes without any edits, without fear. And not feel shocked about seeing his face. I would just work on those that they are buying.
That is A LOT of time to be spending on something that they wont neccesarily buy.
Your edit looks great ! I am sure you will do your people right.
I would get some friends (MPIX = friends) to help you out.
Good Luck!

Re: How's my blemish edit?
It is a great edit and I know exactly how you feel, I just had a senior girl with a really bad problem and I wanted to make sure she loved her pictures so I sat and edited ALL of them before I proofed them for her it is a BIG hassle but hopefully (crossing fingers) she is going to buy a LOT because she says she loves them all there were none her or her mom thought were bad YAY!

Re: How's my blemish edit?
Very, very good job!!! I had an engagement session like that last winter, it was a nightmare editing those shots. I dreaded the wedding all spring and summer, and was so relieved when she had a clear face at the wedding. :) He looks great in this!
It's kinda sad, though, when halfway through the shots, you realize you know the location of the zits and could edit them with your eyes closed.

Re: How's my blemish edit?
I have a heavy acne skin smoothing action that I used on him. It was just one click and looks pretty good. I only had to go in a fix a few after w/the healing brush. Let me know what you think. BTW someone sent me the set of actions to use and they come in handy, so if you are interested let me know.

Re: How's my blemish edit?
I probably shouldv'e not made him so pretty and left a little more mustache and manly roughness, but I wanted you to see how strong it can be!

Re: How's my blemish edit?
Amy, your first edit looks great, but there's still a discolored spot right where his chin meets his hand you might want to get.
I'd proof a few, maybe your favorite 4 or so, and then promise to do the ones they purchase. You are cutting into your profits when you spend lots of time on dozens of photos, and they only buy 5. If they see what good corrections you do, they should have no problem trusting you to fix the other proofs they pick.

Amy, you did a great job! Misty, I like your action work too, it's very good, but like you said, maybe a little more manly!
