Another thing to check is when you DO order something online, make sure your read each and every "check box" they have.  I learned this lesson the hard way.  Sometimes they auto check things such as "memberships" and "subscriptions."

You guys are right about *small charges that go unnoticed* or people will ignore them saying "oh, I will call tomorrow".  You would be surprised.

Kill cards and make reports to the FBI. Just make sure you have all of your ducks in a row so that you can give them the information quickly.

It happened to me also, but the company name is Tem Plate Globus and they charged my Visa for $9.87 on 12/26/07.  I canceled my card, and I used your link to report them!!!  I hope they catch these people because if you Google the phone number 210-807-4272, got to 800.notes/com and click on that number you can read for yourself how many people (that actually took the time to post) have been victims.  No telling how many others there are - this should be on the news or something.

     Thanks for the link...

i to had a charge on my checking account for $ 9.87 which i did not make, after reading a post about them e-mailing pictureglobus asking for a refund for an unauthorized charge to there account, did the same thing. all it took was one e-mail to pictureglobus, first i was e-mailed back informing me of the refund, then the next time i checked my bank statement online the money was deposited back in my account. from the first e-mail to them i made and money back in account it took less then 48 hours and i was satisfied with that.

Re: Heard of Picture globus?? - Not until they fraudulently charged me $9.87

I too placed an order with Vistaprint.com and the next day noticed a legit charge from vistaprint.com AND a fraudulent charge from pictureglobus.com for $ 9.87.  I've used vistaprint.com for years without a problem.  I contacted my bank and they are issuing me a new debit card - but what a terrible inconvenience.  I contacted vistaprint.com, as there is some type of connection with them and the fraudulent charge from pictureglobus.com.  Because it's a small amount, it probably goes unnoticed for most.  The problem is, no matter how small the charge is, your card has been compromised and you don't know who else may have your account information. The next charge could be substantial.

Thanks for replying. I don't think it was Mpix, but that was the only recent thing we had used our cc for. On a side note, I ordered 344 4x6 prints and am super excited about how they turned out!!

Owell, hopefully it will all work out. We called out cc company as soon as we saw it this morning. They canceled our card and are sending a new one. They are investigating it. It just sucks. $10is not a lot, but it is when they might do this to a 1000 other people...

I had a charge on my credit card for $9.87 on 1/6/2008.  I have been trying to get my money back with no luck.

When you call them at: 210-807-4272 the recording says:

    Thank you calling Globus.

We appologies but all of our phone operators are currently busy or unavailable.

For immediate assistance, please use the contact forum available on the web site and a qualified support representative will reply back within 30 minutes.

    Thank You.
    =========================================

The sent me a bogus refund receipt and a bogus explaination how someone used my email screename as the username that person created on their web page.  (I never used the screename before and the email address was created to avoid spam being generated.)

Their phone number was disconnected the first time I called.  The second time I caled, the message said they only respond via email messages online thru "the" web page.  As it turns out this person, Eric Robertson or Mike Allison runs about 3 web pages using similar frauds: WWW.PictureGlobus.com, WWW.ImaGlobus.com, and WWW.TemplateGlobus.com.

I found their names in League City, Texas where the credit card fraud occured.

When you reverse lookup their business number: 1 210-807-4272,  it appears to be unlisted.  Go figure.

I got the same bogus email claim that someone using my email screename create an account (I used a new name that I created as a test and never used before to avoid return spam).  They also used the same misspelling of the word "bellow".  They also promised a refund that never came.

I found the following names of those people in League City, TX but have not contacted them or the local authorities there.

    Hi,

I just did a search and this forum came up.  I have two charges on my account.  I have never been on pictureglobus.com or any of the others.  I called my bank and have to go sign some forms to get my money back.  Just wanted to let everyone know, you don't have to go on those sites to get frauded.  Another name to be aware of that took out money in connection with this is :   THOMAS O. MOE P

    Hope this name helps someone.

    Re: Heard of Picture globus??

This exact thing happened to me, when they sent me a blank statement with a refund. I emailed them back and could not confirm the info. They said i ordered the info. from my web site. Which i can't do and they said that the only info. I sent was my email address and password. Impossible I accept credit cards and I need their names, address, phone number and 3 digit codes ont the back of their cards...they replied with someone must of stolen your card info. and I said ya your right it was you who hacked my computer. No response so I filed a complaint with the BBB and The local FBI...as well I tracked the phone numbers to Texas and filed with them also. I cancelled my bank credit/debit card and filed a complaint with the bank as well. I did more research on the I.P. address he provided to me on the receipt they used and come to find found out that the IP address is here in Burlingtion, Ma. once I further search this companys IP address etc. they will be in for a real surprise. Grant you it was only $9.87 but I love to do research.

Beware of Company templateglobus, imaglobus, pictureglobus.com

    Hello Mpix:

I am a new member to mpix. I basically joined so we can all team together and figure out how to stop this company from stealing from other consumers.

As I was going through my credit card statement last weekend (1-20-08) and I noticed a charge for $9.87 by templateglobus.com with the Phone number 210-807-4272 TX next to the purchase. I have never purchased anything from this company.

I called this company and got an answering machine. I contacted them online and I have their correspondence below. They said that they have refunded me. My credit card company recommended that I shut down this card, so I have. I don’t think they have refunded me, they just told me that so I would stop bothering them. As you know there are many other people on ripoff report, and at the below links that have experienced this problem. Even more if you search the phone number 210-807-4272 in google.

A few examples of others with problems:

    http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=52&threadid=782097&lastpage=1

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/303/ripoff0303213.htm

I believe they are worthy of an investigation by law enforcement authorities.

Thanks for the opportunity to report this and please let me know if you have suggestions how we should file a report to law enforcement.

I think it is important for everyone to do these two things (other than all the things you need to do to protect your credit report and credit cards etc):

    1.       File an official complaint with the Federal Trade Commission about this company. This is important to set up a paper trail against the company which, as others have posted is operating three websites: www.templateglobus.com, http://www.imaglobus.com/, and http://www.pictureglobus.com/. They all use the same contact number 210-807-427 and point of contact Eric Robertson.

You can file your FTC complaint here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/consumers/filing-a-report.html

    Company Name: TemPlate Globus

    Address unknown

    Phone Number: 210-807-4272

    Web Site Address: www.templateglobus.com, http://www.imaglobus.com/, and http://www.pictureglobus.com/.

    2. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Houston here: http://www.bbbhou.org/complaints2.html

I am doing a bit more research to figure out where we can all file an official complaint with the local police and state's attorney.

I will report back when I find that.

    Thanks

    Sincerely,

The correspondence from the company when I emailed them:

    Dear,

The reason you were charged is because an account has been created on our web-site and was paid with this credit card. Since you did not make and/or authorize this purchase, then apparently someone got a hold of your credit card information.

I have contacted our accounting office and I confirm we have issued a full refund, so the money should be back on your card within 5-7 business days (depends on your bank).

I have also passed a note to our security department asking them to lock this account as well as asked them to find out more about the user who used your card. I will get back with you as soon as I receive any information from them.

Bellow is the only information I currently have available about this account:

    username:

    IP address: 68.48.123.22

    Registration date: 2007-12-29

Please accept our apologies and thank you for an on-time provided information.

Just like any Internet company we do suffer from online fraud and I appreciate you taking the time to help us fight it.

Once again thank you for your assistance and we hope on your understanding of the situation.

I still am curious to know if you guys all have something in common....like it's the same brand of credit card? Or if you have used it somewhere...someone mentioned vistaprint before.......you know how when you register for something and you are sure that you have unchecked EVERY single freaking little box........and you must have missed one??? I BET there is something that we are not connecting with on this issue! There are just to many people on here that have been charged.........

I have also recieved a charge from pictureglobus.com for $9.87. Although I dont think it has to do with anything (Other than coincidence) I have recently made a purchase through Kodak Gallery. It seems as though many of you had made purchases through some sort of picture making sight, is this correct?

The area code for the phone number you guys have shown for pictureglobus is a San Antonio area code.  League City is about 4 hours away from San Antonio.  Just thought I would mention it for those of you not to familiar with the area.

There's someone named MGD on this site that has done YEARS of work trying to figure out how these people operate.  It's a huge operation linked to Eastern Europe.  Most of your questions are answered on this site.  Unfortunately, there is no definite answer as to where they get our cc numbers.  To me, the biggest question  also unanswered is HOW they are still operating after 4-5 years even though it is common knowledge that they are costing us (those who don't notice the charges) and credit card companies (who have to issue new cards) unknown amounts (probably millions) of dollars. That is what troubles me.

I had the same thing happen and the charge seems to always be 9.97.  It is very weird.  Especially your appearing and disappearing.  Anyway I would like to complain to the FBI like I saw someone else had done but I don't think they would deem it a large enough fraud.

Re: Beware of Company templateglobus, imaglobus, pictureglobus.com

I was looking for a common denominator too.  It looks like photo equipment might be the link.  Although unless my husband made a purchase with the cc.  He is looking at a camera and has been on the kodak website comparing prices but has not made the purchase yet. I read where someone had purchased prints from them also but then others say they have not inventory.

Re: Beware of Company templateglobus, imaglobus, pictureglobus.com

There's no common denominator yet found.  If there is a common denominator, it's up higher (credit reporting companies, banks) than a certain website.  Please see this site  to find important info and what you should do about these charges.  Some think it's not worth it to report to authorities, but if they get enough complaints about  certain companies or certain common practices they have to pay attention at some point.  These frauds are counting on you to not bother because of the small amount.......

I've never ordered from Mpix, but a charge from Picture Globus just showed up on my credit card also.  I did get a response from MIKE ALLISON <MALLISON@HERMESELECTRO.COM> claiming to be issuing a refund.  I don't trust him at all.  Did your issue get resolved.

    Re: Heard of Picture globus??

Yes, I did get a refund.  But that's because they don't want to call attention to themselves.  If they didn't refund, we would call our cc companies and complain. Bank would "charge back" the fraudulant company, in this case picture globus, and also charge them an additional $25 for the trouble.  Obviously, that would be counter productive.  Also, if they have too many charge backs the cc company (bank) would look into it.  They count on us not noticing, that's how they make millions.  You HAVE to cancel the credit card.  You will be charged again from them or a similar company if you don't.  If you want to understand it better (reads like a fiction novel) look at the site I linked to in my previous post.

I canceled  my card (actually DH was the primary card holder) and they only reissued his card, now I have to wait for mine. :(  Been w/o it for a couple weeks and I like to use it to get my cashback points.  PITA!!

    Frustrating, isn't it?

    Re: Heard of Picture globus??

    Hi there,

If you have been hit by this fraud please call your cc and insist that they cancel your card and issue you a new one.  This scam is becoming very large and is constantly changing sites.  The one that got me was also from Eric Robertson but was www.photogeyser.com.  The site has now been shut off after only two weeks.  My cc: tried to get me to just dispute the charge but please, please cancel and get a new card re-issued - INSIST on a new card.  If you google "$9.87 credit card fraud" you will see a lot of posts on this scam.  Since it is such a small amount is has not been given much attention.  The criminals may be "pinging" your account to see if the account is valid and then hit you with a larger amount next month.  Cancel cancel your card.

Also, file a report through http://www.ic3.gov/  which is part of the FBI.  The only way this will be stopped is if they can track these criminals and find out where they are getting their credit card/debit card information.

    Good Luck!

leciel- ok, so you're real, that's a good thing.  Are you a lurker here, and if so, why not jump in and get to know everybody?  It didn't take you too long to post back, so you must be on the site.

I have heard of pictureglobus, I think on Betterphoto.com.  Not disputing the facts at all, but almost all of the people on this page are low, new posters, that's all.

I'm real, too. I posted to this site after doing a Google search for pictureglobus.com. Speaking of pictureglobus.com, the site is now not available. But, sadly, it looks like others are popping up to take its place.
