what do you feel about this?

another my sister sent me....checked out on Snopes.com as being real:

Bone Chilling Video... (Possibly our future)...or your future if you are young enough--Not to scare you but awaken you...

This is a poignant, yet chilling message.   It's a 'must watch' video, that lasts about

3 minutes, and needs to be forwarded all across America !  Don't leave the first screen, it will open automatically.
Notice at the bottom right you can reverse-stop-play the video.

What kind of world are we leaving to future generations?
After the video finishes, click on "Enter The Site" --read and then scroll  down halfway to see a map of the United States , that clearly defines  where the Muslims have set up Al-Queada terrorist cells in all but a few states!

       Watch this bone-chilling video ..   http://www.usawakeup.org/

watch the whole thing....it really is something.......

I watched it-very scary! I understand the video, but would like to sources for some of the information. They want people to take action, but what exactly are we supposed to do? I may just be young and naive.

    Oh my god, Big Smile
even comunists in China wouldn't be able to produce so crappy propaganda as this.

I think Mr. Willis needs all money you can "donate" or eventually "purchase this movie" . .so he can pay for a goood, but realllly gooood shrink . . . .
(Mr. Willis is listed as owner of the site http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main/Usawakeup.org )

but yea, some people eventualy can be catched on this crap . . .
(crap? - 100% yes, totaly misleading, non related and mixed up informations there)
however, individuals such as creator of that are most dangerous,
types like this are the ones shooting at the malls or burying their family in a bunkers . . .we've seen a lot like that over the time . . .

it's a shame that internet can be so shallow and misused for such stuff . . .

but hey, thanks for the laugh, needed it today! Yes

fine print for the crazy ones here:
notice my comments are only on the site, not on the political/other content it contains,
so please, save your time telling me youknowwhat,
instead of wasting your time on me, I suggest writing alarming email to your senator (as that site reccomends), so you do your part in this world and have a nice sleep tonight Stick out tongue

If you have ever researched some of the stuff that is on there, you would know that most of it is not propaganda.  I think it's a very real threat.  This is the kind of stuff that went out about Hitler (not via internet--duh!) but no one paid attention to the man until it was too late.  This is the problem--too many people won't search out the facts--just call it propaganda because it seems ludacris.   If you know anything about history at all you'd know that every country that has ever fallen, has fallen from those within--those that came in secretly and those that sat back and didn't do anything to prevent it.  I'm not saying I'm supporting the site, but I do support a lot of the content in it because I have taken the time to check out a lot of what's on it.

    I'm with Monica.

Unless you have lived over seas and seen first hand how a country can be torn down from within, you just won't get it.

Practically any military person and veteran will tell you that the life we lead in the U.S. is balancing on the head of a needle. I told this to my ex-wife one time when she complained about having to use the laundry machine. I saw women, naked from the waist up, washing clothes in the river (honduras between the El Salvador/Nicaragua corridor-I was on a special mission at the time since I was the practically the only person in the entire Brigade who spoke Spanish).

I guess most of you have already forgotten what it was like the first six weeks or so after the towers went down. That only affected New York physically but emotionally, it left a scar on the entire nation. That scar is not healed, folks.

As for me, I would much rather be safe than sorry. Err on the safe side because if not, we have lost it. Seriously.

I see many of you scoff at the possibility. That's cool. I will treat that as a nervous laugh. Worried but don't want to admit it type of laugh.

Get real folks. I have been out there. I have seen it.

Many countries would rather drag us down to their level than pull themselves up to ours.

    'nuff said.

Koa, I'm a NYer.  I have family members that worked in the rubble...  It was traumatic, and left deep emotional scars for a lot of people.

But, that being said, many of those same people are intelligent enough to recognize fear-mongering, propaganda, and that a lot of the "facts" being thrown around are more harmful than the threat some perceive.

Sorry, I'll let it go...  But, the dragging out of "9/11" as justification for stuff like this is morally and intellectually repugnant to many of us that were most touched by the actual event.

You're not alone Mike.  All one needs to see in the in the OP is "the Muslims" to recognize that it is nothing but stupid, crazy, money seeking propaganda.

I think that should have been a violation of the forums "no religion" policy right there. I don't think that posts that disrespect any particular religion should be allowed.  (JessE, I know that was never your intention.  You're not like that).  But, isn't it weird that with all the folks here who are very upfront about there religion, I can't think of any who happen to be Muslims.  And there are a lot of wonderful people and good photographers around who are of that faith.  If there really was a zero tolerance policy here for such things, then this stupid nonsense would be thrown off.  And maybe a bunch more "lurkers" would feel just as free to be themselves as anyone else here.

Having said something so obvious, I hope it doesn't get yanked.  I'd like our response to get some airtime. I'd like to see a little more diversity here.  And I'd like some clarification here from John Rank.  How about that?

Re: what do you feel about this?

Shannon, you are right, there is was no specific intention implied....I think the video mentioned like 10% of muslims are radical, and that would leave the rest to not be.  There are other radicals in other religions too, to be sure.

Let me say, I didn't post it for the religious content, as for the terrorist content.  We have our own Americans who are also involved in terrorist activities.  Frankly, I do agree with Monica, Koa, and I think Karen(?).  we do need to be vigilent, and I have a client right now who has spent time in Iraq, and believe him when he says, we are only shown what the press wants us to hear.  Good and bad.  We are becoming a big enemy in the world, not the heros...

Our soldiers are the heros, but we as a country aren't, world wide.

    Mike, Shannone,

I too, am a New Yorker. I went to school at William H. carr Junior High School in Whitestone and then at Bayside High. I also attended Wasshingtonville H.S. in upstate New York (Newburgh) and for a very brief time had dealings in Flushing H.S. I worked at the Chelsea Health clinic just a few blocks from Madison Square Garden (I used to spend my lunch breaks watching Bowling for Dollars being taped) and I also worked at the New York State payroll department (just a few blocks away from the World Trade Center). I practically lived in the New York city transportation system, bus and subway, much like many New Yorkers.

I was there during the 1975(?) blackout and I have many friends and family still living there.

My sister was born in New York.

Her husband was born in New York.

I felt it just as bad even more so because I was not there to do anything about it.

So please, don't feed me the guilt trip.

What I am saying is, you do not have exclusive emotional scars as a New Yorker. What I stated is fact and not meant to hurt any feelings. I'm sorry you feel my comment is repugnant. I find it even more repugnant to sit around and wait for something to happen.

As I said earlier, unless you have been to a third world country and seen the "REAL WORLD", you will not understand.

Let me know when you all wake up.

If you listen to talk radio, which I do, you hear this kind of fear mongering. I would never want to loose the wondeful country I live in  but seriously we can't even decide if should stop illegal immigration.   We also have leadership in this country that has been in the wrong about quite a few things in the last few years. I did vote for him twice.  Yeah we have reason to fear radicals and this guy is a radical therefore I will fear him and people like him. I do pay attention to the facts and the fact is we've lost direction in many situations that this country is facing today. Most of us have no idea how to feel about any of this anymore.

Re: what do you feel about this?

Koa, I appreciate your passion.  But I think that there are other perspectives that need to be taken equally seriously.  And, I don't think anyone can deny that much of the rationale behind this kind of mindset (that of the video that started this conversation) is xenophobic, isolationist, and reactionary.

As I said earlier, unless you have been to a third world country and seen the "REAL WORLD", you will not understand.

This kind of comment is what makes it hard to have a reasonable conversation, and justifies the decision of many forums to ban political/religious content.  It's the "I'm right, you're wrong, someday you'll understand..."  mentality.  That's not how honest discourse works.  As for your contention, my background is in Christian Missions.  Guys I went to seminary with are in Darfur tonight.

This isn't about someone having the correct "experience."  It's about objectivity, and reasoned response.  With that in mind, I'd hold that the originator of the video, and website, is a under false delusions and the victim of an over-active imagination fed by those that share similar biases.   Unfortunately, it's not fair to call him a "victim" since I'd say that this type of message is actually predatory and manipulative.

    ---

Okay, I think that was heavy enough for an MPIX thread... especially one that's sure to be closed and deleted.  :o)   I'm going to go back to discussing f/stops and ISO's from know on...
