    Contrast and Brightness

When you increase or decrease brightness, are you supposed to adjust the contrast as well?

    Re: Contrast and Brightness

Well usually you do, but I find using Curves or Levels is a much better way to get an image right. Brightness and contrast work on too broad a spectrum and usually it is not everything that needs adjusting, Usually it is just one or two parts of the light spectrum

     Moose is right on.... but

I not only use levels and curves to get it right in where I want it but then I will come back and use Brightness & Contrast to really get it right where I want it...

I know that sounds crazy but it works quite well for me and is rather easy after about 5 images.
