WOW! That is exactly what I envisioned!!! The problem is, I am just learning photoshop and don't really have any idea how you got those results! I know how to do basic editing, but have not ventured into plug ins or actions yet. (someone on Mpix recommended knowing how to do the edits first manually, then moving on) I know it may be too much to ask exactly what you did, but can you point me in the right direction please? I am looking for those bright, shiny, blue eyes that pop off the page and the skin tone you provided is perfect!

I tried doing a conversion using the Sapphire Blue action and then restored the color to the young'n. Added a bit of softening... Then added the border...

thanks for taking the time to play with it... I love to see all the different ideas... it also helps me to know that I did things ok in the camera and just need to learn the different editing tools. I can't wait until I have some idea of what you all are talking about with the different conversions...etc!

thank you... if you want to do what i did to the eyes... all i did was make a new layer... change the mode from normal to screen...drop your opacity to your liking...then only apply it to the eyes.

the conversion I use here is actually an action I bought from my friend Noelle... I use it ALL the time..and I love it..but i can tell you if you ldo a search for Gabiesmom (she's a member here) she actually posted a really cool way to do convertions..

Thanks for the GREAT tip on the eyes.....I have tried it out on several of my photos and I love how it makes them shine! I think it will make a big difference in my photos! I really appreciate your advice and taking the time to reply. I'll look into Noelle's conversion.... BTW, thanks to everyone who chimed in... I had no idea I would get that many responses!

Tracy, you've gotten a lot of nice plays on this shot.

Just keep playing and practicing in your editing program...keep reading and paying attention to what Mpixers have to say...they have some great ideas to help you learn.  I've learned a lot on here.

Just a simple contrast adjustment can make a photo pop and brightening the eyes can also make one pop.  It's just learning how much to do, so that's where the playing/practicing part comes in.
