    web site critique and comments

Please check out my web-site and let me know what you think. I could really use an open and honest opinion. Does it make you want me to take you photos or is it just like everything else out there? I do natural light photography in people's homes. I don't use any flashes, strobes, etc. and I try to get the children to just be themselves.

Thanks for any help you can give-

hey mel!  welcome to mpix.  it's a fabulous forum and you will get lots of advice and make some new friends!

i took a tour of your website and i liked it alot.  you have a particular style and a specialty.  i love your focus.  in contrast, if you go to my website, you see JACK OF ALL TRADES.  i'm in the process of fixing that right now.

everything had a nice flow to it and i easily navigated from one section of your site to the next.  your images are full of movement and emotion.  terrific.

some people will want to see your prices upfront but that's a decision everyone has to make for themselves.

    good luck to you!

Welcome, you will learn so much here!

The only critique that I have to offer and this is an opinon is that your domain is way to long. If I was to recieve your card and saw beautiful portraits on it I still wouldn't want to go to your site. The world of online has caused pepole to want things quick and personally I would not be able to get to your website quick.

Other than that it looks fine

    Once again welcome

Thanks for your comments. I don't know if I can change the name, but I am just starting out so I might. Is there any one else out there with advice? I would welcome CC about any aspect of the site or the photography. You are such an insightful group, I am hoping to really learn some lessons.

    Thanks again,

    Melissa

I like your website, and you have many nice pictures.  A few of them look a bit dark on my monitor.  It must be difficult to work only with natural light in other people's homes, since not everyone has areas with good window light.

I can't stand music on a website and generally I click away before I'd look for the OFF button. At least it doesn't play throughout the site. Other than that, I like the photos and the site!
