Alright, lets do October 24-26.  I don't shoot seniors but love bridals.  Devan rocks seniors! :)

Lisa, this would work out great if you guys could make it!  I so can't wait to finally meet you!

Photoguru, shoot me an email, you are more than welcome to join me for a wedding or two!

Keep me posted.  I'll make my travel plans once they confirm that the meeting is still on in a few months.  I'd definitely love to come meet you guys and introduce my cute nephew to his semi-neighbors.  Maybe you guys will know some cute teenage girls.  Wink

Wendi, any chance you guys will be headed to DFW this year?

I would love to come as well but have to be honest in saying that I would be such a "moocher" as I have very little knowledge and evn less experience.  If you don't mind me coming just to soak up your knowledge and experience count me in.  I would love to watch Wendi photo a wedding.  I am not sure if that will be the avenue I go or not but would love to watch a pro in action.

I love moochers! I was a moocher at the last 2 meetups I went to. Smile

All right, so it looks like we've established October 24-26th...it will probably be more of an informal share what you know type meetup...I am going to be at Wendi's tomorrow so I will talk to her a bit about things to do/shoot.

Um...Devan...you didn't come see me last night...

What we're thinking is to do shoots in Burlington, and we can move between my house and Devan's studio to chill and relax and all that.  My house is in B-town, Devan's studio is about 20-25 minutes south of here in another town.  B-town has more in terms of lodging and food and entertainment, so we'll make this the hub.  I do have a spare bedroom with a queen size mattress, so if anyone wants to stay here, you are more than welcome.  We can also make up the air mattress downstairs, and if someone really wanted to, they could sleep on the floor in the nursery and take care of Baby Boy for me.  :) :) :)

Alright, here's a tentative schedule, let me know what you all think:

FRIDAY:  Meet & Greet at my house between 5-7, once everyone is here, dinner @ some place awesome, such as my favoritest Mexican place in town; Then we can sit around afterwards and chit chat, or if anyone wanted to play around with night photography, we could do a small shoot.

SATURDAY:  Meet up around 9 (I am NOT an early riser and Devan is always late, so we'll tell her 7:30).  I can make breakfast or we can order it in, whatever.  We could have some sort of learning stuff in the morning (maybe just a roundtable/town hall kind of thing, where we all talk about things, share what we know, learn from each other, nothing too formal), do lunch around noon, and then shoot in the afternoon (Devan can wrangle up some senior-type model, and I can find us a bride and groom, and we can split into a couple groups and switch it up).  We'll shoot for a couple of hours, play around with some fun locations, etc.  Then we can do dinner, and then just have some fun, maybe go to a movie or to Fun City for bowling/arcades/gokarts/laser tag, or to a bar or something - let loose!

SUNDAY:  Breakfast, then we could just go around and photograph scenery/landscapes/etc.  Maybe have a scavenger hunt or something downtown, something fun that doesn't involve people models, per se.  Then people can take off whenever they want/need to.

    Thoughts?

As for locations, here are a few I have in mind:

    -Downtown/river front
    -Basket factory
-Starrs Cave (beautiful stream, not supposed to get in it but I do and I'm alive)
-Fun City (I would LOVE to get the B&G on the waterslides in their dress/suit)

I'll see if I can find a couple good indoor locations, too, in case of rain or bad weather, or if anyone wants to do natural light indoors or studio stuff (in case we don't get down to FtMad where D's studio will be).

    More thoughts?

What kind of food do you all like?

Oh, P.S. I think we might have a few other area people interested as well. If it's ok, I am going to relay details to them.
