Starting out... critique website... cards... etc.

So I built up a portfolio, made my website, designed some cards. I'd like some opinions from people that don't love me.

    Website: Photokinetics

So what do you think? Effective? Way Off?

    Thanks in advance!

pictures are too small, for the business card on the bottom.  I really like the first one, how would you use it?  Would you put your info on the back side?

     hey douglas.

i'm no expert but i fit your description of "people who don't love me" since i don't know you.  i bet we would be friends if i knew you, though!

i took a tour all through your website and i liked it alot.  i was hoping for some more variety in the portraiture but maybe i didn't look carefully enough.  it looks edgy and clean and was easy to navigate.  i poked in your client galleries and didn't have enough time to go on to second and third pages.  is there anyway to get more images per page?

i like the business card. the red overlay on the front is cool and i like the curvy dots. the small size of the images didn't bother me.  if you gave me that card, i would be curious enough to go look at your site where i could see all the big images i want.

i'm probably way off base, but a lot of times, i think LESS is MORE.  just give a little tease and point them to your full presentation (web site).  sometimes i see people try to throw in everything including the kitchen sink on a little business card.

good luck- looks like you are serious about what you do.

Your website looks very slick.  Personally, I don't guarantee with money back.  I think you are opening yourself up a can of worms.  Under extreme conditions, and if I feel the shots all look bad, I will offer to re-shoot.  But people are often their own worst critic and you might get a woman who doesn't like the way she looks in any shot and wants her money back.  This is a personal business decision,  of course, but that's my opinion.

I like the site, but I found myself looking for more photos...am I just missing the gallery?

I agree with Devan...I am looking for more images to view. I definitely like the look of the site though. Looks more New York than a lot of us going for the warm fuzzy baby and romance look. Nice start! Oh, and I like the card too.
