Need some help with an Outdoor Maternity shoot

I've been taking pics of my kids for a number of years and have decided to branch out and take pics for others (and make some money doing it).I've started with sports photography and now working into portraits. In a quest to find some models, I have found a pregnant woman that is willing to model for me. I'm willing to take maternity shots - should be fun. She has two other boys that I hope to get in on some of the pics. I was actually hoping to get her boys doing some boy things out on our farm. That may come later. But my little issue is that I'm not set up with a studio (hope to have this resolved by the end of the year), so I have to rely on shooting outdoors.

So, has anyone ever done a maternity shoot outdoors? Do you have any tips or samples? I've seen so many shoots done indoors, often with a black or some other neutral toned background.

Thanks for your help on this one!

I haven't done one outdoors. I like to get mom to be a little more bare skinned than an outdoor shoot would allow for.

You can do some great window light and garage light type stuff with some black fabric background that would be easy to fix up in PS.

Look up sunshine91 I think is her name - Misty. She does really awesome studio shots with garage light and paper backgrounds.

Beautiful pictures you've taken and shared! Thank you! It certainly helps. We have a farm nestled secretly down a dead end road. Bare skin will not be an issue so long as the mom is fine with it. I know she's done breastfeeding photos before.

I have done a maternity session outdoor too, I've even used my next door neighbors property to photograph as their property is beautiful.  I am at work so can't post pics.

I love Maternity photos outside! You can do some creative things adding outdoor elements! I have a white tube top and some white sheer fabric that I like to wrap them in. http://www.atappenphoto.com/maternity.html

Atappen, that's what I did too.  She had her own tube top and a few other outfits, but the tube with sheer fabric works great.  She even had this beautiful necklace in white and it pulled everything together.

I want to thank everyone for sharing their experiences, pictures, comments. I'm loving the pictures that are being shared. Keep them coming!!! I'm actually waiting for my camera to make it's way back to me from a thorough cleaning. The sheer fabric looked wonderful in the pics. It made me think of some very pretty pink satin that I have. I do know this particular woman is having a girl. I think I'll do something with it.
