Anyone have any expierence with truncated or corrupt data when taking images from camera to computer?  I have several photos I was looking forward to seeing but they are not normal, camera is new, card is new (yes, it has been formatted) so I don't know where to start so I came here.  Anyone?  Bueller?

 Are you shooting RAW? and if so does your RAW converter have the format for your camera.  I had to reinstal PS a couple of weeks ago and I thought I had lost a whole card's worth of images until I remembered to update ACR.

Hello, I do not have PS actually, I just got the Canon 40D and it comes with some software to edit and convert RAW but some of these images were not shot in RAW.  I shoot some Free-Lance stuff for some local publications and the very thought of blowing something makes me sick to my stomach, it already kind of happened yesterday, I was shooting a movie scene and while I had enough to work with, the better shots that I would have sent in were ruined.

 Maybe you can retrieve the corrupted images with the recovery software that came with your memory card.  If not, there are several programs online that you may be able to use.  I have used the program below several times to retrieve corrupted images off various memory cards in the past.

Thank you I will check out that link to see if I can re-coop any of the images that were messed up.  I see you are from Georgia, the town in Vermont I live in is called Georgia too, odd name for a town huh, Georgia Vermont, not a single trafic light in the whole town!
