     Hi Wayuptonorth and friends here...,

I'm very happy to see a good comments to my picture... soo happy also looking forward more critiques because "No one is perfect" or I want to know how could able to make this picture more better... if you find its hard to say, then don't skip post your comments which will makes me  give you all the best as always.

Now i have to tell you one thing  to you...which i forget? or i don't know what say..might be not  thought about International users... that right i failed to tell you on my note.

The Highlight on forehead (Death, Where are you?) is not a blown out. The parallel white line is called..

    Vibhuti

Vibhuti is the holy ash obtained from sacred puja rites involving fire. Ash as the product of fire is considered intrinsically pure[citation needed]. It is used on the forehead, normally as three horizontal lines representing Shiva. Some Hindus meld both the three horizontal vibhuti lines of Shiva and the 'U' shape thilaka of Vishnu in an amalgam marker signifying Hari-Hara (Vishnu-Shiva). In addition, sacred ash signifies that the body's origin is from dust and ash and to dust and ash it shall return. The ash is a marker of impermanence. Everything in the interim is but an illusion (maya).

Vibhuti, when applied on forehead, also signifies that the latter is willing to destroy all bad and evil thoughts in his mind(such as jealousy, envy, lust, anger, greed, etc...), as he knows it is these things that, if not destroyed, will bring all pains in his life.  Thanks WIKI

    For more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_iconography#Hindu_sacraments

    thanks for your critique

    Good Bye

Photographers who have convinced themselves that clients won’t pay what is a reasonable price for their photography, often are merely projecting their own self-limiting values, but this can be a critical business mistake. A businessperson must be confident that he or she is providing value to clients, and that clients, in turn, will exchange that value for their hard-earned money. On your composition and choice of subject matter I don't think there really is much to add, you are doing a very good job. I think there may be a few technical issues that need a little help. I think overall in your B&W images you are losing some highlight detail that would really add to the image. In Death, Where Are You it would be nice to see more highlight detail on his fore head where the ash is and in his shirt.

While your color scenic images are nice and in the long run in the US would sell better they do not compare to the emotion and power in your B&W images of people. Work on the highlight detail and keep shooting. |c

Many time i used to crop my image and that time.. i used to loose all my details....but anyway, Hardly working to coverit up in a professional way! and making viewer to distract with story behind my picture.

Hope One day i will carry a good DSLR in my hands... till and ever i will not forget your advice! Thank you sir!

    Never mind me...

Superstar...I am in awe of your framing of images.

There are few people on this forum with an inherent knack for SOOC framing that you have here.

You have an eye for art, and emotion in photographs.

You have a tag line about learning from us...please post more so that we may learn from you!

I am shocked that these pictures weren't taken with a DSLR!!!!  Wow!  I didn't know this level of work could be obtained with a point and shoot camera.  You truly have a way of capturing emotion.  I love your photojournalistic style.  I agree that you should make a book and sell it.  Then you'll have enough money for a DSLR for sure!!!

It is not the camera it is the photographer using it, give a good photographer any kind of camera and they are still going to create good images. A large number of the images on my Web site were done with a 3MP Nikon point and shoot, can you tell without looking at the metadata? You can't even tell until the prints get over 8x10.

It isn't about the camera it is about the photographer and there are some great images here. |c

Superstar, you are correct about the DSLR. It is easier to capture the image that is in your mind when you have the right tool. A great camera helps so much.

My friend, given the tools that you have to work with...your pictures are stunning! I can only imagine what you will create when you get a camera that allows full control of it's settings.

The stories add to the photos as well. I agree with the book idea. Please keep posting. Thanks....Chris

Thank you.... Mr.Brewyet for your wonderful words.. Still i even't think about making a book, because i  not even  start my step in photography.. I'm just a armatuer.. till now not even touched DSLR or tripod. Holding my point and shot camera for 1 and half years only. First i want to prepare myself for photography by learning from all best photographers around here... later i can think about publishing a book.

    thank you

Catching up on your posts....I have to tell you, Death, Where are you?, looking at that photo....really looking at it and seeing the emotion in his eyes....it made me cry....before I even read why his eyes spoke the way they did. To capture that, to capture something that makes a person emotional without even knowing why....that my friend is an amazing gift and I look forward to more

    Child Labour   :-(

Very hard to say about him, He is Suresh, working as a helper in road side Mechanic shop which is situated in "Pudhupettai" chennai's biggest Motor cycle repairing lane , which contains of 500 mechanic shops around the lane. you can find so many Suresh's here. working for 50 to 75 rupees (one dollar) a day and he will get a lunch and 3 times tea or coffee while shopkeeper is having.Parents of these kids might be working anywhere else and doesn't care about this flower bud's education.

At most times, Mothers should depends upon these kids daily wages where is father most times in "busy in boosting". there will be a one tragedy story behind all these kids.

When ever time permits or their owners are not around these kids will go for park to watching kids playing around, Normally these kids will not go inside because his shop owner might come anytime, if he caught him his daily wages will be cut for the day.

When he stare at playing kids from outside grill of the park , I captured him from inside. For me he looks like in prison and he his... when this small buds will have a chance to get freedom and joy ?? Please Stop Child Labor.

    Good Bye

    Super Star.....

these are all so amazing !

I must tell you that I have had  my DLSR longer than you have been using this little point and shoot and am NO WHERE near this good.

You have an amazing EYE for the photograph and that is shown in these shots.

I love the narrative you give as well, and I can "see" a book written just like that..... one that would definatly sell.........wether the photos are technically correct or not.....but your shots are so GREAT it is hard to find a flaw in them.

And I agree.........please stop child labor.

Add me to the list of people amazed by your work!  My parents took a missions trip to Gunter City and flew into Chennai also.  They helped build a church there and their story reminded me of your photo "Shadows At Work".  They were amazed by the whole experience and loved the people of India.  Keep posting...I'll keep checking back for new photos!
