So that explains my mom and sister....hm....

 Try this:  Hold the center button and the top of the circle down for something like 20 seconds at the same time, let it sit for about a minute, and then turn it back on.  I *believe* that is how you reset it.  DH screws up his Nano once every couple of months and we have to do this to it.  I looked it up a while back and now just push and hold buttons until it comes on, I am pretty sure that is the last combination I did and it worked!!!  I swear I tried it out before sticking it in the envelope, and even made it a point to leave it on a song that I thought was appropriate for a teen to hear and not some of DH's crappy metal rock.  :)

And - if you see a crazy driver on the road - keep your distance. If you see a car with lots of body damage in different places odds are the driver is not very skilled - so keep your distance - and the more space you keep between your car and any others on the road the safer you are - so keep you distance. We call this space your 'cushion of safety' and the larger it is - the safer you are.

And sorry - but as a driver's ed teacher I just had to say it! (even though I'm not teaching anymore)
