We have decided that starting with Assignment #357, we will be
giving a free print away to the winner of each assignment. We do have
to post a few rules, but hopefully this will serve as an incentive to
get more people posting their great images! See the Mpix Blog for details!
Assignment Contest Rules 1. Images must be submitted in the
respective Mpix Assignment Forum thread during the open dates listed for each contest.
2. Votes will only be counted
during the respective open voting dates.
3. Only one vote per forum member.
4. All posted assignment rules
will apply.
ASSIGNMENT
RULES:
1. Anyone not reading and following these rules (and the ones
below) will be beat with food of your choice . . . wet noodles, wieners,
coconuts .
2. Please
post only photo and title.
No story or background allowed. All comments, critiques, and complaints should
be placed into the comments thread.
3. The
photo must to be a new photo taken during the time period listed above,
not something you've done previously.
If it's an old shot, please do NOT post it. You could, however, always try to
recreate it.
4. Resize
them to regular standards, please -- no dimension (length or width)
larger than 660pixels and at 72ppi
5. Only post ONE photo.
6. Have fun and be creative. The only bad photo
is the one not taken! At the end of the assignment, everyone will vote for the
photo they think was best executed and best fit the assignment. The winner gets
bragging rights and the esteemed privilege to pick the next assignment. The
winner must also sit out that round and tally the votes and post the winning picture
when the winner is announced. You are not obligated in any way, but if you
submit a picture, you SHOULD also vote.
5. Winner must claim within 24
hours of the contest end date.
6. To claim your prize, email the
winning image with your forum name and shipping information to matt@mpix.com.
7. Prizes will be determined by
the Mpix Forum staff.

I wish there was a way we could post our submissions so that they don't show who did what. That has alot to do with why I don't submitt orders.

Do you know the difference between a fairy tale and a Southern fairy tale? Well, a fairy tale starts “once upon a time”. A Southern fairy tale starts “Y’all aint gonna believe this $hit!!

I wish there was a way - I tried last year or so to brainstorm a way to do it... but an "anonymous" sign on would be scary! lol

I'm a newbie here so don't really know how many entries you've had for each one in the past, but since the author of the challenge has to sit out would it be too overwhelming for them if we sent the entries directly to them? When it was over they could just post the photos with the title.
Since I've never been a part of one I really don't know if this would even be feasible, just a thought.

there has to be a way though... the silverlake photo forum lets you do it. I also think they are a private area where you have to have up to so many posts in order to view parts of their forum... Mpix forum is my fav but I hate that it's not more private

How would you redeem a prize for an anonymous image though? As far as the entire forum not being private, that's the nature of the beast with online forums.

Hey, I'm all for this anonymous or not. Just try to let Homer or Luna or Lowry or Scott or so many others post a shot anonymously and see if we don't know who did it. Thanks so much Mpix Guys....you must be the "Mpixies" this week...going around granting wishes This is too cool!! But please make the coconuts a nurf ball version!!!

tommas4:when voting came then I've re-read the topic and look at the pictures . . .hello, call me crazy, but I've never thought to care who's picture it is?
I agree with Tommas...I never knew this was an issue. That stinks if it is. I think the winners have been very diversified and qualified in the assignments. Recently newbie's have even won which I think is terrific...hmmmm.
Afraid of change, afraid of staying the same, when temptation calls, we just look away.
