    only 21 days!!!!!!!!!!

Ssshhhhh!!!!  Wendi isn't ready to hear that yet!!!! :)

Today is a good day.  The last few were horrible, I had been cramping and contracting off and on, and had severe back pain and could barely even move.  I was throwing up a couple nights and and was ready to throw in the towel.  Then, this morning, I woke up, and felt really good!  No idea what happened!!!  I am so done being pregnant, though.  This belly is so heavy, and I am just in the point of never-ending discomfort.  Baby is measuing 2 1/2 weeks big (so 39 1/2 weeks) because of the diabetes, so we're going to start talking about delivery options at the next appt.  Yay!

I'm scared to death about actually having a baby at home to take care of, but at the same time, I think I am almost ready.  It's exciting!

Aw, don't be scared!  My kids are 9 and almost 14, and I'm still nervous that I'll be a bad parent!

This is a great time of the year for a newborn.  They are ultra portable.  Especially the first!

I'm sending you a pm too.

Awe, I'm sorry you haven't been having a good time with it.  Those Braxton hicks things are awful. They used to wake me up and hurt!

Maybe you're feeling good cuz you've moved into the nesting stage?

You'll be fine with the baby.  Remember, we are here to help, haha!  You'll have plenty of advice, that's for sure!

    LMAO!  Portable... hee hee!!! :)

Let's see...nesting.  No!  My excuse is that we hav ebeen in our house for 2 months and still are not even close to being unpacked!!!!!! :) :) :)  Although DH says I have used my sewing machine more in the last week than I have in the 9 years we've been together.  He's wrong, of course, but I am whipping out an impressive amount of blankets, boppy covers, and other random baby-related things.  :)  I think I finally have everything ready to go, but I still refuse to pack my overnight bag for the hospital.  I just can't bring myself to do it!

21 days...shut up already! :)  No, really, I am so done with being pregnant.  Every day I wake up and hope that I am going to sleep that night in the hospital with a baby in a bassinet next to me.  I can't wait to see what he looks like.  My mom hopes he has red hair like me, while I really hope he has dark hair like his daddy.  I hope he has his daddy's nose, too!  And I need to know if he is going to sleep well, nurse well, etc., because not knowing is driving me nuts! :)

The GD - not great dane - is rough but ok.  The diet is so not hard to do at all, and staying on a schedule for eating is not hard, but after two months of it now, I am losing all motivation to make lunch and dinner every day.  That is likely just from being exhausted, though!  My sugars are still out of whack, and the doctor doubled my dosage of the pills.  The first few days at double doses were really difficult, but I think things might finally be leveling out.  Since Monday, I have only had one high!  Yay!!!!  Last week I was having one a day, sometimes two.  I am hoping it stays this way.  In the last 2 1/2 weeks, I have only gained one pound, but as long as I'm not losing, it is supposed to be ok.  We are hoping baby is just big and not big from the diabetes, but he is quite big right now, 2 1/2 weeks larger than usual.  Yikes!

    Making babies is tough stuff!!!!!!

I was huge and didn't have diabetes with my first one and she only weighed 8lbs 11oz so there is hope.  I was 3 or 4 weeks over where I was supposed to be in size.

Just wait . . . when I went to the hospital I was like, what?  now?  Go home, let's do this tomorrow!

I've heard that the bigger they are the more it hurts!  Ok, sorry, that was mean, my wife thought it was easy.  Just before my daughter was born my wife's dr. was concerned about how big she would be if she went to full term....not sure why.Confused  I'm only 6'6" and 300lbs.  So he gave her the option to induce 2 weeks early.  At two weeks early my daughter weighed 7lbs 3oz. and was 21".  He may give you the same options.

I'm only 5'1" & my husband is probably about 5'10" - both average weight for our height. Our son was 8 pounds, 3 ounces and 21.5" long when he was born which was two days after my due date. I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant with him (oops, *lol*). Everybody was amazed at how big he was for me being so short & me not needing to have a c-section.

LOL!!!!  I guess you are right!!!!

Reminds me, at the shower last month, my sister asked DH a bunch of baby-related questions beforehand, and then at the shower asked me to answer how I thought he would.  Her very last question was: "Where was the baby conceived?"  I about died laughing, because we know where, and when, and even what position, and she was so embarrased! :)

Ok, Cary, no more posts from you.  :) :) :)  I've heard that the smaller the baby, the more painful, and the bigger, the easier, which seems totally backwards!  My sister's first was 9# something.  Her twins last summer were a month early and were still 5-11 and 6-2.  Then again, she and her husband are both tall and "built".  I'm a couple inches shorter than her, and my husband is an inch shorter than me.  I would rather him just be a big baby vs. being big/fat because of the diabetes.

    Re: Wendi and Baby "M"

Wendi - here was my mantra as I got ready for delivery and baby! "If they can do it, I can do it... and better!"

I just kept thinking that and so far, it's gotten me throught the first 2 1/2 years!

While I was pregnant, I got to thinking about it... women have been having babies for all eternity. Some out in the bushes, some at home in the shower, some alone, some with help, some very young, some very old... but they all did it... and survived to tell the tale!

So I thought to myself, if they can... I can!

That lead me down a more competative road... you know... I looked at people I know, people on TV, people at the mall... and I thought... man, look at them... If THEY can do it, I can do it BETTER!

Now, I don't know you really... but from your posts, you're a strong, smart, confident woman! You can do this! Stop listening to the people who will tell you how awful it is! You can do it! Attack it just like you do a job interview or a big wedding shoot! Take a deep breath and stay calm!

    YOU CAN DO IT!

I haven't had a good night's sleep all week.  I know, I know, I won't after the baby gets here, but at least then I'll have something to do when I'm awake.  Instead, I sit here, or lay in bed, wide awake, bored and tired but unable to sleep!  Yuck!

I think the cramps that I had from Sunday-Wednesday had something to do with something I ate, too.  Some I know were def. preggo pains, but I am prety sure not all of it was.

Right now I am in PAIN!  You know those little hand-grinders that you can get, with the bowl and the stick thing, and you put good in it and grind stuff up all nice and fine?  That's what I feel like right now.  I'm the bowl, baby is the stick, his head is the round grinding part, and he's just going to town in there tearing the hell out of my lower abdomen.  Ow!!!!!!  I don't like it!  I wish he would go to sleep, so that I can go to sleep!

    Wendi......

Here's my advice....dont listen to anyone's stories....your labor/delivery will be your own and when you are holding that sweet baby, you will agree that it was ALL worth it!!  I had four and completely enjoyed my time in the hospital with them....savor it!!!  Dont dread it...its a beautiful thing!!!   While in labor, focus on your breathing pattern to take your mind off the contractions.  If they offer you the hot tub, take it!  I contracted to 9 cm without much pain because the jets felt so good massaging my stomach.

Good luck!  I cant wait to hear how it goes!

I agree.  I was so wound up with everyone's horror stories I was scared.  I figured I'd take every drug offered!  However, I had a long, but not very painful, labor with Keller.  I didn't end up using any pain meds, no epidural, loved the hot tub, and only pushed for about 10 minutes.  She was a little overdue and 8 lbs, 8oz, so a big girl.  The breathing, walking and hot tub was all it took to get me through.  With the twins, I didn't even end up at the hospital until I was 100% effaced and at 4cm, and again, just sailed through with my breathing exercises and relaxing.  They were 6 lbs each, but I couldn't tell a huge difference between having Keller vs. Parker and Atley.

You are on my mind quite a bit these days!

Thanks all of you for your support!  Maybe we should name this baby MPix instead of Maddox! :)  I wouldn't have to change the "M" on his wall at least! :)

I am actually not too worried about having him.  I figure whatever happens, happens.  Our baby classes have us well-prepared for best and worst case scenarios, and even though I am not thrilled with any of the doctors, I trust them to do a good job with us.

What I am scared about is what happens after - actually caring for a baby!  I sit on the couch at night, working on images and doing business stuff, and think "in a couple weeks, this peace is going to be gone, and I am going to have to take care of a baby - I can barely take care of myself!"

I am definitely looking forward to being able to roll over in bed without it being a whole production, and being able to get off the couch without assistance!!!! :)

You mean that's NOT his middle name?  C'mon.....what's the problem?  I'll bet the MPIX guys would let you have your own personal "Sam" for his room that way!

I laughed reading this... All I kept saying was I can't wait until this baby gets here...When I went in for my dr. appt. and he said we were going to the hospital tonight (i had high blood pressure problems and had to be induced)... I was like.. wait... tonight?  Are you sure?  Called my  husband.. Told him I couldn't do this.. I wasn't ready.... Well, guess what?  I still had to go in... Still had the baby (although it was the NEXT night)...
