Yeah, its been done, a couple times now.  Must have been in Sharing, because they aren't coming up in searches now.

I have a small heart on my lower right hip.  It is...7 years old this month...and I still love it.  Granted, I can't see it right now, but I do not regret it at all.  I put a lot of thought into it, though, found and then modified the one I wanted, then waited 5 months before getting it.  I knew when I walked in the shop and still loved it as much as I did 5 months before that it was the one I wanted.

DH and I have talked about getting second tats, but haven't taken the jump yet.  I don't care for ones that are blaring and obvious or typical.  I will never have one that is visible with my clothes on.  I won't do names, unless they are my children, and even then I'm not sure.  I will always put a lot of thought into anything else I get to make sure it isn't something I will regret.  I know some people think tattoos are trashy, but they can be done well.  Just because someone has one doesn't make them less of a professional or legitimate citizen, you know?

    Re: Tattoo's & Piercing's

I have two tatoos.. one that I got when I was 18 because I was 18 and could... so it's a frog. I'm not sure why I picked a frog. I looked through books for like 3 days at the shop. I think I just finally picked the frog because they were going to kick me out if I didn't pick something soon! The second one I got with my boyfriend (now husband). We got japanese characters that mean "one of a pair". Both are the back of my right hip.  I don't regret them, but I do want more and have considered covering the frog. Like Wendi said, I don't want anything that is visable to just anybody. I think there are real true artist in the tatoo artist world... I don't think either of my tatoos show off any art the way I'd like them to. I also want the next one to have meaning behind it. I just can't come up with any good ideas! Any body got anything good for symbolizing family?

I used to have piercings, but now I don't! I had like 10 holes in each ear and my belly button done too! I really miss my belly button ring! I took it out when I got pregnant. That's actually how I told my grandmother I was pregnant! She HATED that I had it done. She always threatened to rip it out. I always told her I'd take it out when I got pregnant. So, once we found out I was pregnant, we had her over and I handed over the belly button ring. It took a minute, but she got it!

Ears pierced 5 on the left and 3 on the right. 1 tat for now, a double horseshoes/vines on my lower back( aka tramp stamp").  Hubby and I have been talking about getting matching ones...something with a cross, wedding rings, and something to represent our daughter/baby to be once the little bean gets here....

Vikki, that almost made me cry how you told your mamaw. So sweet & a cool idea!

I agree with Wendi... I dont think tattoos mean somebody is trashy or doesnt care about themself. I actually like (some of) them. Just dont want one for myself; although I used to when I was younger. I wanted an alien b/c I collected little alien things. Glad I didnt get one now... *lol* I thank my now hubby for that because we met and started dating before I was legal and he doesnt like tattoos. Then my 'want' for one faded. I couldnt imagine carrying around an alien for the rest of my life *ha, ha*

I have my ears pierced (3 on the right and 2 on the left - hey it was the style)

I have my cartilage on my left ear pierced. . .but I think it's closed up now

I am not planning any more piercings (I've always wanted my eyebrow or my lip. . .but I'm too old and too conservative (read-worried about judgement))

I have one tattoo.  It is a treble clef on my right shoulder.  I have three more small tattoos planned.  One medium sized tattoo and one quite large tattoo in the works of design.  All of them will be black and all of them will be musically themed.  It will take me years to get them all (finances and personal goals (read-weight loss)must come first)

This is what I was taught growing up. . .

Now, thankfully, I can think for myself.

Well said. . .and very wise to consider your tattoo before hand. . .I did the same and I don't think I will ever regret my decision.

    Re: Tattoo's & Piercing's

I just got my first tat this year....many years and lots of thought put into it and I designed it.

On my lower back is a "fingernail" moon and dangling off the end of it is 2 female symbols. I've always been a child of the moon...used to sit at my window and just gaze, hell, I still do lol. And of course the 2 symbols are pretty self explainatory :)

if I could find the narffin' snarffin' pic I'd post it (and will if I do)

Ears are both pierced twice....my navel was and over the course of 6 weeks it rejected it and pushed it back out (swear!). Probably won't do it again b/c the scar where it was would mean it would have to go to the side and I'd feel lopsided LOL!

I've got a black Celtic knot on my back between my shoulder blades (got it right after I turned 18...had to drive to Arkansas for it as they were still illegal in OK) a blue and red star on the top of my right foot (got it in London, I backpacked Europe for a month after I graduated HS, felt I needed something to commemorate the trip with) and a black circular phoenix head and wing thingy that hubby designed on the inside of my left wrist (got this one after a VERY rough year...phoenix...you know the symbolism there) Hubby's gonna get a matching one soon.  I want more tattoos too.  Just a matter of time and money.  As for piercings, my earlobes are gauged to 2's, I have second holes in my ears too but I rarely wear anything in them, my tragus (a part of your ear) is pierced, my belly button, although I never put my ring back in after the baby was born....the hole's still there....and my nose is pierced.  I used to also have my tongue and eyebrow. I took those out after I became a mommy. I've got a pretty visible scar on my eyebrow from the piercing. I think that covers everything.

I have my ears pierced. My mom passed away a week ago suddenly. So my younger sister got a tatoo on the top of her right foot a blue rose for my mom fav color & flower. So I think I am going to have the same thing done on my left foot TOMORROW!

my friend has 2 tragus piercings (one on each ear) and you know, that's one of the few piercings I've looked at and went "OMG that had to be insane pain!" lol....but I totally dig the way it looks, very cool...not brave enough here though!

I've debated on the nose or eyebrow...but I think I'll brave another tat instead lol.

Shandi (my dd) wants a tat when she turns 18 so I may wait until then. However, I've told her ....please please think about what you want and make sure it means something to you. This is forever art and if you just get some little thing b/c it's the fad at the time you may not love it later. Can you see why it took me forever to get the first one LOL.

Forgive me for the fact that you just launched me into Meatloaf nostalgia with your tat....Hot Summer Night:

BOY: On a hot summer night would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?

GIRL: Will he offer me his mouth?

    BOY: Yes

GIRL: Will he offer me his teeth?

    BOY: Yes

GIRL: Will he offer me his jaws?

    BOY: Yes

GIRL: Will he offer me his hunger?

    BOY: Yes

GIRL: Again, will he offer me his hunger?

    BOY: Yes!

GIRL: And will he starve without me?

    BOY: Yes!

GIRL: And does he love me?

    BOY: Yes

    GIRL: Yes

BOY: On a hot summer night would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?

    GIRL: Yes

BOY: I bet you to say that to all the boys.

I've pierced, and re-pierced, my tragus three times now.  It really doesn't hurt at all.&n
