Ad for the High school yearbook

The high school in the next town over was asking if we would like to advertise in the yearbook pricing is pretty good so I thought why not, I think I 'am going for the 1/4 page ad and it will be in color. This is what I came up with what do you think? Does it work? or do I need to start from scratch again. Any thoughts welcome.

Do they do business with you? If not, then I probably wouldn't waste my money, unless you have a senior from there that you can use in the ad. No one will see the ad until after this year's class is out.

Sorry, but I'm not really feeling it. I'm not against purchasing the ad, but this photo just doesn't match the mood of the effects you have used on it. Your business info also doesn't look like it belongs on it. Do you have any others?

I am alos the store manager at a local drug store one of my employees goes to school at that high school, so that is who asked me I don't mind giving back to the schools. I know I wouldn't get anyone from it this year but they recieve thier yearbooks a couple of weeks before school gets out so I thought I might get some 2010 seniors from the ad.

here is my second try does this work better?

I think the ad is a good idea, but I think you might want to start from scratch with your layout. I know that everyone's taste and style is different, but since you're advertising photography, it might be better if your ad focused more on 1 to 3 of your best senior pics rather than having the focus on the decorative elements. Just a suggestion. Best of luck with the ad!

I dont think the images are strong enough for such a high profile ad. Depending on the school, you can have HUNDREDS of potential cleints see your ad. There is to much going on and not enough picture space. IMO "Happiness" really doesnt work for a senior as well. Get a REALLY GOOD image or 2 REALLY GOOD images, start with those being your main focal point and ad texture and extras around the images. Your images should be focal point #1 and your information should be #2. Keep working on it!
