color correction? also difference between Miller's and Mpix.

Does Mpix do color correction? I currently use Miller's, but alot of people have metioned looking into Mpix, so I have been checking it out, but I cannot figure out if they do color correction as well, I do not want to order prints and have them conme back badly. Also, if you have used both, how was your experience with the 2, did you find much difference?

Yes they do. I use them both. Miller's has some products that Mpix does not offer.

From my understanding, Mpix does machine color correction and Miller's does hand correction. Depending on my photos, I use both companies. I can't afford to have 4X6's made at Miller's as they are a LOT more expensive and I'd make nothing. They also both have different products, so you have to look at that also. Mpix makes buttons which I love to give out to children when I do lectures and Miller's doesn't. Carole

This is becoming a common myth posted on forums. Mpix does hand correction. We employ many color technicians with 5, 10 and 20 years of experience in color control. Every image you upload is individually viewed and corrected, before and after printing. Just wanted to clear this up. Thanks. Matt, Mpix

If that is the case, why can't they let us know if we mistakenly upload an image with a dust spot. At Miller's I did that (missing a small one in post processing) and they didn't print it. They let me know so I could correct it and re-upload it. When I did it at Mpix, they printed it and mailed it out. I was not only ticked off at myself for missing it, I was also disappointed that they didn't contact me and let me know before printing it...as the print had to be thrown out and was a waste of money.
