I'm toying with designing a website to begin the great marketing campaign (although have some hesitations about how exactly to structure this great marketing campaign - see below). Have used Yahoo small business tools in the past, but would like to put something together that is more stylish this time. May I ask what tools you've used to set up your sites? I can find my way around HTML, but don't relish getting too bogged down in those details (that's a whole 'nother tangent that I could spend hours freshening up on because it's been awhile.)
I did just purchase the premium package from zenfolio. Don't have a pricing structure set yet. I am working on defining a direction - and am leaning toward fine art photography, exhibiting in galleries, selling prints/canvases, that way, etc. So herein lies another question - would a website be beneficial at this stage on top of the zen site, or for the time being should I stick with a portfolio and face-to-face contact with gallery owners? Since I don't have a studio set up and am not trying to solicit portraiture/wedding photoraphy, etc - am contemplating what steps to take next.
Just curious as to what folks are doing with websites these days and what your thoughts might be about packaging oneself as a photographer. Hope that's not too much in one post!
