    Web Host - ideas?

I'm toying with designing a website to begin the great marketing campaign (although have some hesitations about how exactly to structure this great marketing campaign - see below).  Have used Yahoo small business tools in the past, but would like to put something together that is more stylish this time.  May I ask what tools you've used to set up your sites?  I can find my way around HTML, but don't relish getting too bogged down in those details (that's a whole 'nother tangent that I could spend hours freshening up on because it's been awhile.)

I did just purchase the premium package from zenfolio.  Don't have a pricing structure set yet.  I am working on defining a direction - and am leaning toward fine art photography, exhibiting in galleries, selling prints/canvases, that way, etc.  So herein lies another question - would a website be beneficial at this stage on top of the zen site, or for the time being should I stick with a portfolio and face-to-face contact with gallery owners?  Since I don't have a studio set up and am not trying to solicit portraiture/wedding photoraphy, etc - am contemplating what steps to take next.

Just curious as to what folks are doing with websites these days and what your thoughts might be about packaging oneself as a photographer.  Hope that's not too much in one post!

Take a look at Photobiz pretty simple to setup a site and they have great customer service.

I'm also not a portrait/wedding photographer. I do nature/landscape/wildlife. But, I learned just enough HTML/CSS/PHP to be dangerous so I designed my website/gallleries by scratch. I do the Arts and Craft thing, but I want a place to showcase my work online.

BTW, I use ICDSoft.com to host my nature photography and backpacking/hiking websites.

Thanks, Rob and Mike.  Mike - just spent some time on your site.  It flows very well and of course, is a very nice showcase for your grand images.  You must have a blast shooting such wide vistas.  You got the bear!  Read some into your blog and saw the bear (and your beautiful girls at their dance recital).  My little guy is nine.  The panoramic shot stitched together is cool, too. Thanks for the info.  Just searching for options.  Have you been overall pleased with your online presence?

    Thanks Vicki!

I'm I pleased about my online presence? I'm not getting rich by it if that's what you mean. Nature photography is a tough nut to crack!
