First bit of news.. my surgery got moved up to the 22nd... so now I will have more time to recover and should be able to participate more at the meet-up!  WOOT!!!!!

Second, I have the AWESOME tentative itenerary for the weekend!

Friday night meet and greet:

Where: The King's Palace Cafe http://www.kingspalacecafe.com Beale Street, downtown

What:  great food and great friends!  The prices range from $8-$20, depending on what you order.  Dress is casual!  Bring your cameras if you are into night photography and cityscapes... Also, the night life on Beale is really cool- you can party like a rockstar, or relax with a glass of wine and listen to live music.

When: 6:30pm

Saturday morning, November 7th:

Where:  FREAKING AWESOME warehouse that we're renting!  Cost per person is $25 if you want to contribute. :)  287 Madison Av. Memphis, TN.

When: 9:30-12:30am

What: Delicious textures and wall to wall windows- need I say more?  We'll have models available to shoot, or if people aren't your thing, feel free to explore the place on your own, or do a walkabout downtown.

Saturday early afternoon, November 7th:

When: 12:45pm

What: grab some grub!  This place has a fun atmosphere, good food, and great prices!

Saturday afternoon, November 7th:

Where: the streets of downtown  

What: we'll head out with some models and do some shooting... we're even going to have an trash the dress session with a real wedding gown and maybe even some prom gowns!  Those not interested in shooting the models do some street photography and other cool stuff downtown.

Saturday evening, November 7th:

When: 7:30pm

What: awesome food and good times with good friends!  Dress is casual or dressy casual

Sunday morning, November 8th:

When: 10:00am

What: Brunch at Bing's!  We'll all meet at my studio (which is about 10-15 minutes  from downtown Memphis) for yummy brunch.  I'll have my lights and backdrop stuff set up for anyone who wants to stay and play or talk shop!

What to Bring to the Meet-up:

Comfy clothes and walking shoes... we are going to get our workout!

Any camera equipment you don't mind lugging around downtown.

$ for parking if you are not staying downtown.  Parking Can Be Fun is awesome, and only $3 per day.  They accept cash and credit cards.

A relaxed attitude... we aren't here to impress anyone, just to enjoy shooting with each other.  Don't feel bad if you are a beginner, feel free to ask questions!

Sunscreen, we will be walking around outside a good bit.

The way my schedule looks right now, I will be there.  I am bringing my two boys, 19 and 12.  I know the younger one will model for us, his pic in my avatar.  We will be there Friday about 4 pm and leave Sunday about 2 pm.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learing a lot.

My mother and law and I want to come if you don't mind some newbies!  Very excited about it!  We will probably come Saturday morning and stay overnite.  I can't wait!

 Thought I'd bump this up a bit and take the oppotunity to ask if there is anything I can bring to help out with the shoots we'll be doing?    Reflectors? Light stands? Flash triggers?

Ok...some of that will be riding along anyway, but if there is anything specific I can do to help, just say so.

 Joe, bring what you want, but there will be several of us bringing stuff, so we might not need a ton of equipment.  Plus, there are HUGE windows with lots of natural light coming in for those who prefer that over strobes.
