Those were simpler time. I will not rehash how I walked to school in the snow. I grew up in MS and can only remember it snowing a couple of times. I did walk to school everyday. I did ride my bicycle to baseball, and football practice. Riding it to practice was a breeze, after practice it was truly up hill and kicked my butt. The movie was .10. I would go to my grand mothers shoe shop and shine shoes so I would have money to buy a Coke, some popcorn and a package of Charms (Charms were are/like Lifesavers except they were wrapped individually in cellophane, I saw a pack in a specialty candy store they were $1.75. If you had a car you could pick up your buddies ride around all night and return the gas gauge to where it was when you left the house, gas was .15 a gallon, maybe .12 if you bought from the no name stations. Cokes were a nickel then too. There is a couple of places you can get a Coke for a nickel. Of course Atlanta is Coke headquarters, so you can get a 6 oz bottle of Coke in the GA Tech Athletic dorm out of a machine, and also not to be slighted the Athletic dorm at the University of GA. Cokes World and local hqs is a few blocks down North Avenue from GA Tech and dats the truff.
