My daughter (a senior in about 3 weeks) and I are going to Chicago for shopping and fun and would like to take some of her sr. pics while we are there.  We'll be staying on Michigan Ave (without a car) and are wondering if there are any walkable places, or close places, that might make some fun pics.  We were there a couple of years ago, and know there are some great older buildings with iron fences, etc...but there are probably some great places we would never "happen" upon.  Any ideas?    thanks! kl

Hmmmm, get on Michigan Avenue and walk any direction!  Seriously, there is so much cool stuff in terms of buildings, etc. around there.  Check out Navy Pier, the "Bean" sculpture, etc.  You'll find plenty of options.

Oooo I love Chicago and totally agree....around Michigan you have tons and tons and tons of cool, unique, and beautiful places!

Suggestion that's partially off the question...take a water taxi...it's not that expensive and is a great treat (I want to say it was $6 per person but can't remember). You can take it from Sear's Tower or Michigan (by the drawbridge) to Navy Pier. (Make sure you get the water taxi one and not the "tour" one...way more $$$). If you're one of the first one you can get a great standing area by the edge of the boat for some great shots too (of her and of the area!).

Navy Pier has some cool areas and the park as well.

thanks for the ideas...we are staying at the Allerton.  there are so many parks, etc.  I was wondering, for example, if Grant Park is better than Millineum Park, etc.  Or does the zoo have great places and landscaping...Any place that would be worth a taxi drive to...We went to the Chicago Botanical Gardens last time, beautiful, but we already have a great pic of her there.  We also went to Navy Pier last trip, and my daughter's memory is "stinky"---literally.  The water taxi is a great idea.  thanks again everyone.  it's going to be a blast!
