    Sports photography business card help

I'm a newbie here and just lurked around here for awhile now but since I had a great opportunity fall in my lap I'm in need of help. I have been asked by my daughtes High School to photograph the Senior Football Players to have on the cover of the football program. I did that and a boy didn't show up. I came back and took his picture and photoshopped him in. They loved it and now have asked me to help with next years program and the new baseball program. I am thrilled. I did this for them for free but will have all tickets to the home games now so that is ok with me.....this time. Then they gave me a full page ad in the progam for free.......WOW!!

Here is where I need help.

I need help getting ideas in creating my business card. My photography will be IBJC aka Images by Jenifer Clark. I can design for others but when it comes to my stuff......I am totally lost. Brain fog or whatever you want to call it. I love the sports photography but will do some senior shots/layouts too. Any ideas on where I can look to get my brain sparked on card ideas???

I'm getting great advise from DeeDeeO aka Denise Olsen from Mommy&Me photography and I'm excited.....THANK YOU!

I have searched this forum and I thought it best to post my question....sorry if it's been covered somewhere that I can find.

    Thanks for the plug Patrick.

I'm not much of a designer. I had a basic idea and I have a friend that is a graphic designer. So I had some pro help. We just sat around with a few vodka & red bulls playing with some ideas and my logo just poped into my buddies head than we spend about 2 or 3 hours tweaking it.

I would definitely seek out  seek out some of the designers here. There are some good ones. If your are gearing it towards sports I would think you would want to incorporate some elements of the games. Also check out logos of some schools and other sports teams and think about elements that might match your target clients.

opps I got logo stuck in my head.

I have a very, very plain card right now. I am in the process of changing it. I am moving away from paper business card completely. I currently am designing new "cards". What I will be doing is key tags. (like the savings tags you get from the grocery store) I am using a 3-up design and will be designing 1 card for each season. men's on 1 side and women's on the other.

Here is a quick look at these. I left the template visible so you have a better Idea.

I got this idea from photographing surfers. (self I said.. "You can't give a surfer a paper business card") I had some made with surfer images on them and gave them to a few people. They had really great comments on them. So, I decided to go with them for all of my cards. They a very pricey But Were do most business cards wind up. Yeap, in the trash, the wallet, the car floor. I watch people toss mine right on their key rings.

    Well since he went thereAngry

I'm gonna have to claim (from section 3, Paragraph 2a of the sports photographers handbook) "I don't think so"

But, since I never took my bar exam I'm gonna have to say no. If I sold the images for commercial use I would need a model release. NCAA regulation prohibit student athletes from endorsements. So, I would not be able to have them sign a release if needed. My thinking on this one is, I took the images and they were not bought or sold for commercial use. I have seen many photogs business card with images on them, same lines here.

I may be wrong any lawyers out there that wanna chime in on this one???

Well...... Since I did go there..... Section 8, paragraph 4c CLEARLY states that Ken agrees with you.

I am asking because I am considering something like this -

And in the addendum paragraph 6.... Ah screw it. Once you pi$$ off some kids parents, all bets are off.
