Does anyone have a list of poses that you typically take at a wedding?

I usually ask the bride to give me one before the wedding so I know what she wants

You can save yourself a lot of headache by having them make their list.  If you give them a preset list, they'll just run down it and check all of them.  Make them a part of it and shoot only what they decide they want.

So true!  I have a discussion with the bride and groom about this when discussing their photography.  I ask which special guests will be attending (grandparents, siblings, aunts/uncles, out of town guests, etc.) and ask who they would like to have included in the formals.  (It's always nice if someone in the wedding party knows who these individuals are so they can assist in keeping things moving).

I haven't done a ton of weddings, but with all of my couples I make sure they know it is their responsibility to make sure that they get the formal shots they want. I also make it quite clear that if they want to make a list they are more than welcome to.  But if they don't, that's not my problem if we miss a photo or if people aren't in the picture taking vicinity at the proper time.  I simply don't know who is related to who, or that you must have a posed shot with your great aunt Sally but heaven forbid don't include great uncle Pete, nasty divorce you understand.
