  • Please CC

Obviously this is a winter shot from what we here in Vermont consider a city, it's a solid 3 or 4 blocks of this, too much congestion :) Anyway, I wanted to get thoughts on weather (intended) or not the vehicle in the middle of the frame ruined the shot, I like everything about this forum thus far...

  • Solid Background Editing for Photoshop Elements 6...Please Help!!

When taking portrait photos of newborns against a black or white background (fabric), when editing the digital pictures, how can I easily make the background look solid where you don't see color variations & wrinkles in the fabrics? I want it to look like they're floating in a way! I'm...

  • Re: Keeping conversions consistent?

Here is my method for doing conversions. 1) Start with a well exposed and color corrected image, I shoot in RAW and do this in Lightroom, Photoshop will work too. 2) Open the image in Photoshop. 3) Go to Image > Mode > Greyscale 4) Create a Curves Adjustment Layer and do any needed density/contrast...

  • What gives??? They didn't like them

Any and all CC welcome. They asked for a contemporary photo shoot, they didn't want to look like something from the chain stores, they said. So I took these thinking they would love the artistic nature and the symbolism. But NOPE they hated them. I ended up having to take "traditional O. Mills...

  • need help with bw conversion

Hi Everyone! When I print out my black and white, it has a red tint to it. It looks good on the screen but not the print. How can I adjust to get true b&w or at least get rid of the red. I know I need to calibrate my monitor, but I just got it and I don't have anything to set it with. I need...

  • B&W and Metallic Paper

Hello, New to Mpix; was referred due to the Metallic paper available -- but the fellow who referred me does only color. Can any user comment on results using Kodak Metallic paper v. Ilford B&W? I'm particularly interested in both landscapes and harsh city night scenes. Thanks, in advance.

  • Best color mode format for BW prints

Hi, When I have a BW image in Photoshop, should I leave it in sRGB color mode for printing or convert it to B&W Gray Gamma 2.2? Or is there a better way for print purpose? Thanks

  • Re: First Pictures to post

Hey guys, I tried again. Do these look better? I really like the b&w and the color looks better but it looks a little fake to me. I like a more natural look but I like the smoother skin of the ones that are edited. I think the color pic is too blue but my monitor is not calibrated right, that's...

  • Covered Bridge...original attached

This is one of the first bw conversions that I have done. What do you think? What can I do to make it better? Does anyone have the steps for elements 5 to convert to sepia? Feel free to play.
