  • I know what you're thinking...NOT another pricing post, but yes

Hello all; My name's Shalem (hence the screen name), I'm twenty-one, and have been doing professional photography for 5 years now. I started out working for a large studio in my city, and moved on to start a business with a more experienced business partner, and just recently (4 months ago) ventured...

  • How would you price a Sporting Event??

I hope someone has done this and can give me some advice on pricing and all day gymnastics competition. I have been photographing my daughters dance competitions for the past 2 years and they usually last for 2 solid days. I didn't mind shooting other girls from her company and giving out some files...

  • Client favorites in prints and in gallery wraps? Looking to price

I'm just getting started and working on developing some pricing and packaging/bundling strategies. For those of you who have had a few sales under your belt what sizes of prints are the most common. 5x7's and 8x10's? Are more 8x10's generally ordered or less-cause the 5x7 is cheaper?...

  • Pricing on Website?

In browsing different photographers' websites I have been noticing that some post prices, some don't. I am just wondering if some of you who have sites and have decided to go one way or the other might weigh in on the pros and cons that made your decision. As a consumer I know I like the "straight...

  • pricing to shoot an artist's portfolio

I have a potential customer - an artist who wants photos for his portfolio. He has 40 pieces hanging in a gallery show and wants shots of each one and some with him in it showing the artwork hanging on the wall. He wants basically all rights to the photos. He is an emerging artist and not making much...

  • Finally deciding to put my Photography out there!

I've had many requests from family and friends for me to take photographs for them. I was too scared before of messing up, but I'm finally confident in myself! I'm ready to take photos, and I'm excited! Do these prices sound ok just starting out or do you have any tips of what I can do...

  • Package Pricing & Seniors?

I developed some package pricing for seniors because people kept asking for package pricing. Now though, people want to exchange an 8x10 for wallets etc. and don't want to stick to the packages. I'm realizing that people also want tons of wallets...so do I include that in packages or make them...

  • Re: Pricing pictures.

You need to at LEAST be making double on what your costs are for your photos! Are you wanting to find an album company that designs albums for you, or what? http://www.albumsinc.com is a good place to buy professional albums. There are a ton of album companies out there! Here is a link that might help...

  • Re: Need advice!

It is difficult to tell someone if they are charging too much or not enough. My advice to you is to check out the prices of some other photographers in your area. That should give you a rough idea. Wal-mart & Sears Portrait studios don't count though. Customers need to realize that if they want...
