  • why a change is resolution after applying actions

    original image showes a res of over 300 when I check the image I applied actions to it showes 96 for res and 2448 x3264 I normally use psp xi, but rencently got photoshop 7 I was confused when it asked jpeg options. What should my selections be? Quality......I chose 10 maximum Format options....basline...

    plum: Using photoshop cs, photos are jpg format. When I open them, the image size is 3456 pixel x 2304 pixel and resolution is 72. Should I worry about changing the resolution to 250, which makes the pixel count really huge.. 12,000?? Or should I try to lower pixel count so that it won't take so...

    RVsForFun: While you're correct that you don't have to upsample a photo to print on an inkjet, I use commerical printers and output that require 300dpi so I must upsample for certain products. I'm not arguing with you, but I am saying that YOU don't have to upsample until you reach image...

    Some of you are very confused about ppi and dpi... I usually recommend you start here: http://www.fotofinish.com/resources/centers/photo/resolution.htm The 72 dpi you see is virtually meaningless. It is based on the monitor, which is "usually" 72 dpi, although many of us are running higher...
